the GA final was between the 16th (OEnergy) and 46th (NEFC) best 08 teams in the country. And the better of the two is moving to ECNL next year. GA will continue on but it is very clearly a B league at this point in competition with ECNL-R, EDP and NPL, not ECNL.

Congratulations to South Shore Select and NEFC. Both teams went a combined 5-4 in the GA playoffs. Thats impressive.

Serious question that nobody seems to know the answer to. Since the winner of the 08 division is now in ECNL do they get to come back down and defend their title next GA playoff next year?

Probably, ECNL is so much better they will not win many games and definitely not qualify for their playoff. Participating in the GA will get their confidence back.

The End of the Tourney was upon us...
The Blood, Sweat and Tears were Behind us All...

The Sun was shining in the Distance.... the Blue Skies were strong and sincere... the Wispy, Puffy White Clouds had that Vanllla Sky tinge to them...

Yet, beyond the joyous sounds of full throttled Competition, we all heard it....

The Whoosh of those Green Energy Wind Turbines... the Hum of those Prius and Tesla Electric Cars owned by the Parents of these Darling Little Soccer Cherubs... Their Carbon Footprints Negligible to the Enviornment at this Pristine Soccer Meadow

A White Dove Fluttered past, Slowly dipping it's wings to all of us Endearing Parents and Little Soccer Players...
As this Dove floated by, it sang out in Joy, Peace and Love..

1st off just for the record NEFC went 4-1 and Select went 1-2 last weekend. So NEFC clearly had a better tournament. 2nd place. Would have loved to play Select sometime during the tournament. Their crew all during the tournament kept talking about months ago when they beat NEFC when the teams and circumstances were far different-annoying. Seemed like beating NEFC was their Championship. Just wished they did better in California. There is always next year I suppose.
