whoever wrote this CRAP about a 12 year old girl should be kicked out of this forum. It stinks that everyone new to this 2008 thread has to start by reading this garbage. Never understand how parents can rip 12 year olds? To whom that wrote this- maybe the 12 year old kid isn't as committed to soccer as your daughter is but why does it matter to you that you had to write this? It's just terrible.

it's equally just as bad to have stars blue parent constantly brag about how awesome their daughter's team is at the expense of other teams. I found stars blue parent's comment about SSS just disgraceful. Somehow I think by U-15 stars blue will be a team of the past as NEFC, SSS, Scorpions, Surf all pick up better players. Plus, at the end of the day doesn't JB coach this 08 team and as the girls get older he is the equalizing force that will hold stars blue back? Thankfully stars blue parent will become less and less vocal on this thread as her daughter gets older and the team takes 2 steps back.

It’s actually the complete opposite. The top ecnl teams only get stronger as the GAL , DPL etc. fade away......

If you are posting on here about 12 year old soccer you are AT THE VERY LEAST over involved (I'm in this category personally). Somewhere between "Crazy" and "Completely Out of Touch" would describe the AVERAGE poster. It gets worse from there. Your kids are 12. None of this "which team is better" matters one bit. Not even for the kids.

But thinking about soccer seriously when a kid is 12 isn't crazy at all. A 2008 is a couple years from HS, the things they are doing now build up to there. Not to say they all stay on track - but if they don't get on track now, it's tougher.

And it's amazing what these kids can do, even younger than 2008. Go see the 2009 SSS AP White girls play 11v11 some time.

If kids are not facing that level of play, they don't appreciate how the game can really be played.

So as with all things with kids - there really isn't that much time, and it moves faster than you think.

What is totally asinine (and you sound like you might be one of the few on here that seems to realize it) is sniping back and forth about wins and losses or which team is best. That doesn't matter at all, especially at this age (arguably it never matters if the goal is college), and unfortunately that is pretty much all that goes on here. These teams are all going to look totally different when it really matters in a few years and even then the W/L aren't really all that important.

Which is a mistake if the kids are developing. You shouldn't use W/L at this age to evaluate progress. And let's not pretend that people are posting/arguing about W/L on here because they are concerned about expectations. People post on here because they want to brag about their kid being better than other kids. All you have to do is read most of the posts to see that.
