I can be the biggest risk taker on the planet but that doe not mean any school is going to put their teams out on a field this fall.

The response if you care to read was to the person noting that pro sports have not resumed yet. I noted that they were getting geared up to do so.

Hint...the responses are to questions. Try reading all of it.

Do you have evidence that outside spread occurs?
point was - if even the money making pro sports cant figure out to play, dont see schools figuring it out.

LOL. Do you have evidence that it doesn't? There is new data that virus droplets can remain in the air for 8 minutes. Do you think you'll be risk-free if you're standing next to someone on the sidelines or in the stands who coughs up some covid?

              Did you write the following?

"Btw..some of these teams are overseen by Congress as they are some of they only legal monopolies in our country.
At no time has Congress addressed that that there will be no sports. Because there will be."

Yes too much money is why in the short term. Contracts with networks, carriers, advertisers, unions, and others and others need to be renegotiated. No one said large crowds aren't a problem, they are a potential problem given the diverse population and exceptionally close seating

Yes I supplied two sources in the original Whereas... post

As for me, yes I am comfortable with the risks of resuming life including standing on the sidelines

Why do your responses always seem to avoid answering a question, or revert to some misplaced comparison to a hypothetical.

What to say? This situation absolutely rots but a person can only control what they can control.

Everyone is scrambling to figure out to work remotely if they can, how to learn remotely, etc. Some sports seem to be ready to go right now and i would suggest focus on those. Running, tennis, golf, kayaking or paddling, hiking, maybe some swimming, biking, yoga, remote fitness classes.. focus on some of these and you can make progress immediately.

Individual water sports seem the way to go this summer if you can get access to beach or pond or lake or pool.

Agreed, and evidence of safe personal fitness will support return to team sports.

The concerns about HS sports all seem to be rooted in the OPTICS of it, and not the science.
The facts show that HS sports can be played safely, and without increased risk to the community at large. Despite pages of response there hasn't been one post that shared evidence suggesting HS sports are unsafe. Which brings me back to optics. Why are so many posters in favor of cancelling HS sports? What are you trying to signal?

I'm not in MA (dead board) but a lot of towns here haven't decided if they're opening their pools yet. At a minimum they may wait a month. Some towns are only giving beach passes to town residents; non residents can't purchase them like they used to. Probably not many summer camps either. No summer or camp counselor jobs for older kids. It's going to be a long summer for a lot of families.

Not in favor of it just not focused on it right now. low priority item in the big picture. HS sports will return at some point.
