    Will HS soccer happen?

If so, which precautions will be taken?

    #2
To soon to tell it partially depends on what precautions need to be taken in the classroom. Also there will be restrictions on attendance at any HS events. Outside of the northeast it looks a lot more likely.

Throw in spread among the teams where players would be asked to quarantine for 14 days. That could quickly wipe out numbers and potentially a season for some teams.

Then what does a school principal do if a team has had a know exposure and/or infected player? CLose the school? Schools will be trying to minimize exposures not increase them

All districts and the state are discussing multiple what-if scenarios. Doesn't mean decisions have or need to be made yet, but it is a very real possibility. Now I've got a very pissed off rising HS senior that hasn't had spring soccer and possibly not their last year of HS, as well as a college kid equally frustrated that they may be stuck home here for months and also possibly no fall season. Good times, good times.

There is no way that schools are going to be encouraging people from other towns to come to their facilities anytime soon.

Of course Covid cases will come back once schools re-open, but no one wants to encourage them to come back either.

Maybe a more important question- if sports are cleared to return early 2021, will the MIAA allow fall sports to play in the spring?

If so, will they move seasons around to fit in a shortened fall season in March/ April, followed by a shortened spring season in May/ June? Or will they play all sports simultaneously- a nightmare for scheduling but a really cool sports bonanza for the athletes and fans? There are issues with kids playing both fall and spring sports too.

Have you read a single thing on this board, in say, the last 2 hours?

CDC Facts: Flu has killed more 15-24 year olds this year than Covid alone.
No reason to stop youth sports. None
