Just an opinion based on watching Bolts over the years as an opponent, but they don't see the same to me. I used to consider them the best choice for a boys club in MA, but now I don't. They don't seem as competitive for one thing, but also--just my opinion--the culture seems poor as well. I know my kid and his teammates don't have much respect for them and they have much more for other clubs they play against. And them losing Mt Ida seems like a big deal on top of that. Not sure if it is related to BA or even DC moving on, but looking back it seems to have started before that.
These are just my observations, and no I'm not a director from another club trolling them. Just a parent trying to stay informed. What's going on over there? Anyone else notice the same? I'm talking only about Mt Ida Bolts. Don't have the same feel for the S Shore region.

DW has been ripping off those poor SS families for years. Two things that guy cares about, his stomach and his wallet

I don't know about the older teams, but my son played for the Bolts U9 in Metrowest--and it was horrible. What I realized, since then, is that all these clubs operate the same way: they bring out the Irish/English director who is very impressive and talks a big game. The moment you sign and pay him, he disappears and they hand you (or in our case) a incompetent 20 year old kid who is, admittedly, a good soccer player but has no clue how to talk, manage, engage, or coach a herd of energetic children. After wasting $ and year's worth of time, they finally fired him and shut down that Metrowest group. What a S*%T show. We put my son in Seacoast and the experience there was night to day. However, my daughter was also there and her coach was a grumpy, lazy has-been who spent more time berating them and surfing his phone than coaching. So, as others have said on this board, is has nothing to do with the club and ALL about the coach.
