Mistakes happen all over the pitch throughout the game. If they didn't, scores would be like basketball. Simple sports psychology. Not sure what idiot started the trend, maybe it was American football coaches thinking it was the military and "sports as war". Whatever, it doesn't work. There are ways to motivate, inspire, and yes, even harden athletes without yelling. I coach and can tell you that players know when they screw up. They certainly don't need a coach to yell at them about it. What they usually need is some help reading the situation they are struggling with or a break to refocus.

Here's the truth....No one cares about anyone else's kid. No one truly cares whether a kid plays 90 minutes a game in D1 or sits on the bench of a D3. All of this stuff is nonsense.

Regardless of the quality of the soccer, D1 programs will have practices and/or games that conflict with academic schedules with not much consideration from the school and travel requirements that are more intrusive. D3 has fewer of these conflicts.
Do you think they “consider” each student’s schedule when booking season and travel?
