Or just a fan of the game. Maybe not a Pedophile or a nut job.

Wow. If you don't know what projection is I suggest you look it up. You are so far off base and delusional I really have no response but to say that I pity you and any young man or woman that you are guiding in life.
For sane parents out there, Southern New Hampshire University( where the New Hampshire championship game was played) has an absolutely beautiful campus and the stadium is better than any in New England including Division 1 colleges that I've been to.

A (hopefully) reasonable perspective on the NH Issue

I am a GPS MA 2000 father with a kid on one of the remaining Mass D1 high school teams, but I must say that if either of those NH high schools had multiple GPS/NHPSA 2000 kids on their squad, they could well be able to beat a top MA team. I cannot speak to the younger age groups (yes, I know that Prosser’s GPS MA 2001 team was very successful), but that NHPSA/GPS 2000 squad is something VERY special. Not only were they probably the top team in New England, they were truly one of the best in the country and won at least two national championships. Not only were they tremendously skilled, they played with a great level of aggression and athleticism. The other elite 2000 squad was that excellent NEFC 2000 group which I believe also won a national title, but virtually all of their players are now in college while the majority of the NHPSA (and GPS MA) team are now HS Seniors.

Up the middle – GK, CBs, CMs, that NHPSA team was loaded with D1 level talent and the rest of that squad was really good too. So, it may sound far-fetched, but if one of those NH schools has two or more of those young men, they would be a very dangerous squad – and it is entirely possible that they could outplay my son’s Mass D1 team.

Another year passes and the MIAA just doesn't learn their lesson. D1 North Semifinal is schedule to be held at Saint John's Prep. If SJP beats Lexington today, the "neutral site" will be their home field. Joke.

You obviously have a serious reading problem:

Scroll down. Bottom left. Gps NH (aka Bedford High school) would kick the best high school team in mass.'s butt. Sorry. I pay very good money for my son to go to a very good private mass. school and have seen them play the best teams in Mass. but no team in Mass. this year is anywhere near was Bedford or Manchester Central from NH were this year. It was just very impressive and I wanted to convey it. Sorry to hurt your feelings. Try to get out more. It's a big, challenging world out there.

Think this is a sorry attempt for screwing them last year at Brockton?......most likely

I guess that's cool for the kids that can't make a Development Academy team.

A couple things about the National Cup:

The teams from New England have a straight qualification pathway - they win their State Cup and they qualify directly. Most other parts of the country require State Cup winners to next advance through a regional qualifier after winning SC. This is why there aren't 50 teams at the National Cup and it is why NE is overrepresented there. This, coupled with the fact that the smaller NE states such as RI, NH and ME typically have very small fields of 2, 3 or 4 teams competing for SC means that winning the SC and qualifying for the NC is relatively easier.

The National Cup is divided into 2 flights of competition - Super Group and Premier and you get to pick which one you compete in. Super Group is more competitive than Premier. I suspect some clubs definitely opt for Premier to increase there chances of winning a "national championship" that they can tout for marketing purposes.

It varies a bit by age group but each flight is usually made of of 2-3 groups of 4 teams, so typically about 20 teams total per age group per gender attend the National Cup.

Looking at last year, here are the older boys NH teams that were there and how they did:

GPS NH 2000 - U19 Super Group Finalist
GPS NH 2001 - U17 Premier Group Champion

You can see those results here:

                            http://clubsoccer.us/schedule.aspx?d...UBI&syear=2018

Setting aside DA there are at least 3 legit "national championships": the National Cup, the ENPL (formerly NPL finals, but now includes ECNL teams), as well as the USYS National Championship. There are very good teams at all of these tournaments, but no one of these has all of the best teams there.

I have no doubt that these GPS 00/01 NH teams are very good - a quick look at the recent NPL results confirm they are competitive - though not dominant over the MA club teams.

If there is an unusual concentration of these GPS players at either of these NH high schools that would certainly be a factor - do you know how these numbers shake out?

It looks like these schools have about 1500 students each, bottom line I am skeptical that they would be a class above similar sized MA schools in towns with strong youth soccer programs and a good number of club players.

I'd wager that the soccer being played today in MA D1 (Brookline v. LS, Needham v. Wellesley, Lexington v. SJP) is of a similar caliber. The top NH teams are likely competitive with these programs but I'd be surprised if they clearly outclassed them.

I could not find any video of this years Bedford v Manchester Central game, but here are a couple from last year and the year before. If you have a link to a video of this year's game would love to see it.
