Brandeis men have been to back to back Final Fours...And the women went two years ago...just sayin'.

Just ignore BTDT. Obviously has nothing better to do, and obviously for him this is 100% about what he did to his other kid. Brutal, and no doubt hard to live with. Now he'll sign in, magically out of nowhere, and insist he hasn't been posting. Not just a really bad guy, but also a pathological liar.

      Amherst admit rate = 13.8%

25th percentile is 1360 but the 75th percentile is 1560!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

95 students were admitted with an SAT score well below 1200.

They are the only school that takes any students from the bottom half of a high school class.

There seem to be a lot of unicorns in D3.

If soccer is the important issue then you might try dropping down the rankings to where the money hopefully gets better. If that doesn’t happen then you might need to look at how realistic the goal is. A college coach gets evaluated on their win loss and if your kid can’t help them do that they will hardly get the time of day from them. Is that what you want for your kid or are you one of those delusional types that think you kid will break the mold.
ok that had nothing to do with what I posted....I was only talking about level of play and likelihood of play, not dollars.

where can you find that type of information?

Who gets into Bowdoin and attends Eastern Connecticut State U because of price? That's the BTDT advice. So transparent.

Schools can admit whoever they want as long as they meet the minimum threshold for NCAA rules (which is scary low and no school like Brandeis or Tufts is going to admit an athlete that barely clears NCAA hurdles). Any threshold above that is up to each school to decide. Many schools across all spectrums bend their admission standards for "some" applicants, be they athletes, certain other desired talents, legacies or the president's nephew. Even then most with strong academic reputations will only bend so far.

How old are his kids? At some point wouldn't most sane people move away from such an obsession?

Harvard is D1. Also you aren’t getting into Harvard with a 3.0 if are just a random D1 level player. Think All American types. Does that describe any of the boys on that list going to any of the Ivies?

Almost every school provides that information.

Once you realize that grades are generally much more important than soccer ability you start to research what schools actually look for. I suggest everyone start with academics rather than rely on athletics.

I'm using it to point out exceptions, which is a bit disingenuous.

I used this type of info to help my son reverse engineer a college contact list that best correlated his academic achievement and soccer potential. He marketed himself to a group of roughly 25 schools and he's committed to one that lived in the "reach" pool of the top 5 schools on his list(top 5/middle 15/safety 5).

Go to Google and type in: [school name] common data set

Pay particularly close attention to: FIRST-TIME, FIRST-YEAR (FRESHMAN) ADMISSION

That will show you the numbers that applied by gender, the numbers admitted, and the numbers that actually enrolled.

All the other data below the admit info reflects the stats for actual ENROLLED freshman.

It's very useful to any parent with children headed to college.

Bizarre, and exactly why focusing on admissions concessions is an error. BTNT makes it sound like being smart and actually getting in and also playing a sport is stupid, as though soccer only makes sense if you do get in a better school (even though he's argued for years against reaching above one's level).

So the prevailing wisdom seems to be that a whole lot of kids are getting special consideration with Ivy and top level D3 admissions and if you read this list all that you have to do is play soccer for the Bolts and your ticket almost certainly gets punched. My only wonder is why clubs like the Bolts are giving their services away so cheap.

great thanks. Mine has had several schools reach out that I had assumed would be out of reach academically but the coaches don't seem to think it's much of an issue. Good student from a very challenging high school, but not a "great" student.

The college admission process is a very nebulous exercise. Anything can happen. In some cases I view application fees just like a high priced scratch ticket. You may just get lucky.

Honestly, I'd say that list points more to Aztec of all places. They seem to have a much higher yield per player.

How does the NLI work? Are all D1 and D2 commits required to sign it?
