In Solar's case its the huge player pool they have access to but it is also the connections to the USYNT that enabled them to bring in players who were flying from other states just to play for them. Their goalie last year (Duke commit, USYNT player) came in just for showcases and playoffs and lived in Chicago. They also had a USYNT field player from Michigan. They had 7 kids on the U16 National team last year, all playing for thee same ECNL team so leveraging connections to US Soccer is clearly a big part of it. They're playing a game with recruitment that no one else can play.
