Although there’s been plenty “crapping on” in this thread, I don’t believe anyone has crapped on the Aztec North team. Their coach, their club, maybe. Not the girls.

Reap what you sow. I think it’s bold for the Aztec powers to come on here and say RG doesn’t understand hierarchy. No, he just didn’t accept it. And now calling him a liar, etc. What did he lie about?
RG isn’t a hero in this situation. He is fine with letting his parents make assumptions and then blaming Aztec or 3step. Coaches jump for their benefit NOT their teams they Need the teams to make their moves possible. Make your decisions with that understanding. It’s sad as kids face senior year they are facing this drama of moving clubs.

Here is the options for the high school players at Aztec North. They can stay there and drop from the NAL to the Ral and also have a brand new coach. Or they can join stars and merge with the sky blue regional team and get to attend their tournaments and showcases. Every rational player and parent would make that switch in a heartbeat. But nice try though

Nope. Sky Blue is a disaster. Huge increase in travel, RAL level competition, showcases no coaches attend. Not that it matters - those few players who are college bound don’t need that. But nice try though.

Exactly. Who cares if RG is a “hero” (and has he claimed to be?)? Dropping to RAL with a new coach and largely a new team isn’t appealing senior year. The above comments sound like someone from Aztec trying to scare parents into staying.

The competition is more in line with NAL, where they currently play, than NAL. Curious why you’re so invested in the decisions other parents make. Care to share?

lol. Curious why you're so invested in lying to and scamming parents.

Anyone considering Skyblue should look up the standings here 1-7-0, at the bottom of the table with SUSA and CT Rush.
                  https://theecnl.com/sports/2023/8/8/...808235427.aspx

That's earned Skyblue the #24 spot in the MA rankings, below NAL, RAL, EDP, and DPL teams.

That's a huge step down from the #9 spot Aztec North holds right now. It's worse than Aztec North NL, their 2nd team. Playing with much worse players against worse teams is not going to make anyone a better player.

Plus you skipped right over the travel part. Look up the Skyblue schedule. Northeast - G2007 - North. Click on a Skyblue listing to see just their schedule.

Are you dumb? Who cares what the Sky Blue ranking is? It won’t be the same team next year. How is that hard to understand?

Again, why do you care so much?

Well to be fair the crapping on teams goes back to when some were nine….

So after getting another update from Tyngsboro it is true that Aztec North will not exist in a month. There doesn’t appear to be any plan to replace the coaches or even try to retain the players. They are all joining stars. They were never a top 5 list team but they were always around the top ten and a tough game. It’s been a pleasure Aztec North. Good luck

I assume Aztec North will continue on the boys side? And I agree. Not a top team but a solid team regardless. I would say in the land of the best vs the rest, they were among the top of the rest.

If true, it is a shame there isn't a league option between ECNL/GA and NECSL that doesn't suck. A league with the top half of DPL and NAL would give them good competition and reasonable travel to get it.

Instead all the leagues have way too much time commitment and travel for the level of competition (ECRL1); a criminally stupid level of travel for weak competition (ECRL2); or reasonable travel but fractured leagues with too wide a range of competition for stronger or less strong teams (DPL/NAL). EDP mostly isn't as far off, but those teams would still benefit from less travel.

Also, generally if the teams break up, even partly, they will find they are much worse. It takes about 15 or so strong players, with strength in every position, to be truly competitive. Less than 11-12 and the wheels fall off.
