I’m sure this was an attempt at insulting Scorps but from a keeper perspective, better to be on a team with more opportunities to shine (and develop). I’d say Scorps keepers understand the lesson that many parents on TS fail to grasp. Your club team’s record is meaningless. Keep your eye on your own long term goals and block out the noise. I’d rather my kid go to Clemson after being on a club team with a mediocre record vs some of these other schools mentioned (not calling out individuals) after playing club on a team with a better, but ultimately meaningless, record. YMMV.

Actually my point exactly. Better to get some action on a mediocre team and be seen than rack up clean sheets and stand around for a full game.

Scorpions goalie is legit. My D's played against her for long time and she's really good, and the best player on their team. Good for her to commit to a great school.

1) LOL. Club play isn't the decisive factor. It opens the doors to attention, which leads to looks at ID camps, campus visit invites, etc. After which the real decisions get made.
2) The suggestion that being on a lesser team is some kind of hack is dubious.
3) Nobody over U14 thinks your club team's record is a deciding factor in your recruiting. Straw man.
4) All it proves is that it's mostly not about the club, it's about the player. This same player on another team would have gotten plenty of looks.
5) Unless you know the Clemson depth chart at GK, you don't know what this commit even means. They have 3 on the roster, including a sophomore and a junior. Some recruits may never start a game. Being a GK is tough, they have to beat out the existing two and any new recruits.

Quite the keeper factory in Taunton. 7 D1 commits in last 4 cycles (1 07 so far and 2 each for 06, 05 and 04). Stars has a clear advantage everywhere else but Scorpions are holding their own in net.

Well done 07 goalie! That's impressive!! Clemson is a top tier D-1 school.

Being from RI I have watched and cheered for the Scorpions 2008 goalie, who is also from RI, for a longtime so hopefully she can keep the cycle going as she is up next for Scorpions.

Clemson does a nice job of recruiting the New England ECNL conference. They’ve gotten SUSA’s USYNT players for the last few years and now a quality Scorpions kid.
