What are you going to do about the 3 players on your Aztec team talking to Stars coaches and jumping ship? They know they get more exposure playing in ECNL.

It’s late July. All the U17 contracts are signed. $ has been paid. No one is coming to save your team

Every club and owner is much happier publishing their commits than they are their plastic winner's medals. That's what gets parents to the sidelines.

Not to the U little parents. “We are winners, look at these medals” is the best bait.

True u15 and below all about the “team” by freshman year, all about promoting yourself. Downfall of soccer in US begins at u15. No more development all self promotion.

They aren't mutually exclusive. True that it becomes about self-promotion, but that doesn't mean development stops. If anything, it's the opposite. Players who are looking to advance start to separate themselves from the parental medal chasers. They understand to be the best, you need to compete against the best and need to beat the best. They aren't afraid to step out of their comfort zones and the dirty truth about youth soccer starts to reveal itself: wins and losses don't matter. It's a hard concept to understand, but it's true. People have been telling the morons in this thread for years and they never quite understood. Some may never. Oh well, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink.

Enjoy your Facebook likes everyone and chewing the ears off your neighbors at the weekend pool party about the 'baddest team in the land'. The players with goals are quietly going about their business playing and improving.

Then why is stars blue trying to replace half the team ?

Wow your last paragraph is telling. You do realize that parents posting about their kids soccer is not for likes. I think we are all old for caring about likes and followers. Let’s face it most of us have zero money for traveling outside of soccer, and no life. I post pics of my kids team because it’s all I seem to be up to and I’m having fun at the tournaments or I’m proud of the teams hard work. It’s just a form of communication for us old people to stay in touch. You really need not to worry about it. We also know at a certain point kids are driving the bus and soccer is about social or it is about serious trying to get into college. Either is fine.

Yep...and the likes. Like what my D's grandmother does. She's also 88 and has no idea about soccer.

Just stop. No one is making a wholesale switch at this age on that team. Will they add a player or 2, or will 1-2 drop down or out? Possibly. It happens at this age but rarely. A top team will always have players that want to be on it, but usually late adds are a lucky break with a good player leaving another team or moving in from out of state.

Even if your rumor were true the club knows they're not going to draft many at this stage. The recruiting is going well which is all families care about anyway

Trophies work for ulittle parents or at clubs that won't have any commitments. There's plenty of those and that's OK. I want as many kids playing soccer as possible and it's fine if they don't do anything beyond college intramural teams. They're playing, having fun, loving the game.

That's the right attitude. This game is one that can and should be loved by all, and by every level. People concentrating on their "baddest little team in the land" are doing way more harm than good for the game.

This is the new Blue anthem after they realized their team wasn’t that good after all. “We don’t care! We don’t even LIKE winning! Those grapes are so sour anyway!” Go on Blue dad! The Blue crowd will never, ever wake up and realize what a dream they’ve been for Stars marketing team.

OP here, thanks. The "every family for themselves" attitude, coupled with club greed, is not good for the sport. Participation is down, and that is a huge concern. People are tired of the BS, cost and travel. Travel and cost matters a lot for the non college track level players, which are huge in number. The college track leagues are set.
