Best of luck NEFC! Hoping for much success! and many, many wins this week. Would be cool if 1 of their teams can win it all!
On the other hand.....Who the heck cares about competing in a showcase in GA? I'm sure there will be TONS of colleges watching that thing. So the worst teams in GA play each other? Wow! Fun times! You forgot to mention that SSS came in 5th place in the very weak northeast GA division and got crushed both times by NEFC in order to compete in this thing. They have an 09 as their best player, and they have field players playing goalie now that they lost their really good goalie to Blue. How's it work for SSS in goal? Does their coach call time out every 15 or 20 minutes and then change a field player to jump in goal like they do in town soccer? Do they even get timeouts while the goalies change or do they just change on the fly? Do they play like 5 goalies in the game? Weird and sad at the same time and to think that their parents were bragging non stop a few years ago how great they were to now. That's what I call a complete 360! 4 years ago I despised reading the 07 thread because of select parents bragging, now no bragging at all. Let's go NEFC!!!!

Dude stop hyperventilating. College coaches (maybe not as many as in Seattle) will be at both venues, and the goalie can still finish out the season before starting with Stars in the fall.

I’m not a GA or ECNL parent, but why would Select 07 travel to CA (for what, $5k???) to play teams who aren’t as good as local teams like Aztec, Surf or Bayside? just stay home and schedule some scrimmages. Or play in NPL where you belong.

And save the “college coaches will be in attendance” BS. Not at GA “showcase” games.

Okay, I am a GA parent (NEFC), and I am seriously concerned by the number of colleges posting on twitter that they are in Seattle and not CA!?

1) you shouldn't be surprised
2) there will still be plenty of coaches there and many don't even register until right before an event or don't even register at all. Make sure your player keeps up correspondence with their target programs
3) you could be a troll

We talked to a handful of p5 coaches this last week, every one of them said they were going to Washington early and Southern Cal later in the week. Don’t sweat it

Stars probably can't as per ECNL rules this late in the game. If Select doesn't let her play it's petty and vindictive - more reason to have left in the first place.

GA clubs are mandated to attend showcase by GA, so while the club will promote as showcase to parents, very few coaches will be watching these low level showcase games. Most of coaches will be at playoff games.

It's not about the contract but ECNL has rules on how late players can be added to a team's roster in that season. The two leagues aren't under the same umbrella so other than that timing rule there's no reason she can't switch and play

This is exactly what happened. Girl let Select know early so they can find another keeper and she was told that she was not welcome to play in any additional games. Missed the last two leagues games and SSS is bringing the 08 keeper to CA. Bullies.
