AND NO, not about earning minutes. Too many kids on roster means club collect fees from those kids /parents to make them feel better about themselves about being on a certain team. Drop down a level, play, develope and have fun.

This is one I wonder about, as well. Presumably the Blue players that don’t dress could start and/or play the whole game for White. Is the honor of being on the top team more appealing than actually playing?

- parents don't' have a realistic picture of where their player fits
- family/player is too enamored with the higher level team and aren't looking at the bigger picture
- ego gets in the way, as well as some "keeping up with Jones'" mentality
- coach over promises (happens but not as common as some seem to think)
- they truly have no other good options in their area (also not that common given all the clubs and leagues out there)

They've gotten all they can get by being the best player on the B team and playing every minute of those games. Now they need to practice with better players and try to earn some higher level game time.

The quality of your teammates is more important than the quality of your opponent. Consider how much time you spend in practice versus games.
