Four years later, and now, 2007 (and now U15) parents, now it’s gone. How was it? What would you want 2011-2008 parents to know?
That being a top ulittle player/team/whatever doesn't matter AT ALL.
Many won't keep playing past middle school
Puberty can suck for some kids; studs can turn average seemingly overnight.
Kids who keep working on their skills and not using just athletic prowess will succeed in the end.
If you kid has the skills and a good work ethic to work towards whatever goals they have, they will be fine.
Sock away money for college - your kid isn't getting much of a scholly if at all
Make sure they keep up their HS grades and scores
If they're still playing in high school, ENJOY every minute of it. Those four years go by even faster and you can't get them back once they've gone. Think twice about sacrificing time together as a family for doing more camps, tourneys that mean nothing.

Above poster is pretty accurate.
If you can, make some trips out of the tournaments and add to your lasting memories..
Play for good coaches and do not try to get to a "badge" club early - it does you zero good to "be there first" because in late middle school and by freshman year, there will be a LOT of changes at top clubs. If you are at a top badge club already, be prepared for 50-75% of the players to be gone by 8th grade.
The people on the sideline with you are very rarely your friends.

Interesting….the poster describes the sideline parents as non trustworthy and not friends. Maybe he’s projecting? Too many years on the 2007 thread has jaded him. Not everyone is bad…..maybe you’re just afraid? or fear the reality of your daughter’s talent? Either way, have a margarita and relax. It’s going to be ok. She may even go D3! Hooray!
