The greater risk is injury by aggressive athletic athletes trying to overcome a skills gap and contribute to their team.

and that risk is overstated by the HS haters. But go ahead and tell your kids they shouldn't play HS soccer. See how well that goes over. Ask GDA how that went over. Oh, wait....

Arlington (Who is leaving for ECNL) pulled out, so they are missing one of the 16 teams.

Oklahoma Energy and Utah Royals also leaving for ECNL, but it looks like their 2007 teams are attending.

Best of luck to the MA teams attending!

Wow... lay off the Starbucks. Nobody said to skip out on those high school years ECNL mom, it's just not the same quality level of training for the fall that these club kids have been getting. Pretty sure it was you who said "these kids still learning the game". Everyone's school is a little different...

This tread has always been about ECNL. If D didn't play ECNL she was worthless.

                    3. Stars White ECNL

                    5. NEFC GA
                    6. SSS GA
                    7. Aztec Impact
                    8. SPOL Impact

And yes, they'll still play each other a few times per year over Thanksgiving and in early spring tournaments (Stars, NEFC & Scorpions all had them this year).
SPOL? Are you kidding? they lost 5 starters and 7 from second team. U15 team is maybe a B+ team at best

lol how can u have a legitimate playoff when 4 out of the 16 teams are leaving to ECNL the millisecond the playoff is over??? Congratulations to Oklahoma, Utah, Virginia and legends for getting accepted into the ECNL. Job well done.

They won't forget everything, but small things take over. Any kid that plays high level club, once in HS they are a standout. They have too much time on the ball therefore the quick passing suffers. They have to compensate for players who don't know correct positioning. Mostly, HS is a game of long ball so the passing and patience they learned suffers. It will take the entire month of December to get kids back to where they were in august. Been there and seen it multiple times

Well, they return to club usually early November unless they go far in playoffs....and it takes little time to get back up to speed for the small bits of loss. Meantime they still learn other things, often times playing different positions than they do in club. GK's learn to get shelled.

Yet college coaches could care less if you play HS or club 10 months a year

The ECNL now has about 70K players under its umbrella. Pretty easy to see where things are heading.

They do .... too bad less than 500 of them are truly elite.
