Very true and a valid point, but not beating list teams other than SSS. Tied SSS, Surf and Stars Blue 4 of last 5 games against those teams and haven’t payed Scorpions or White.

I’d say NEFC would be in the 5-7 range if they were the 10th ECNL team.

The play was as good as any team this weekend. There’s just not a gap between them and the other teams any longer.

They played as good as the 8th place ECNL team. No different than playing FSA or East Meadow. None.

And yet no one has beat them. I don’t understand the debate. Ecnl is the best league. Nefc is the best team. Does that make everyone happy? If they still can’t be beaten even with the disadvantages of no tough league games or no good competition according to ecnl people that says something. You have the better league snd better weekly games and better everything and still can’t beat nefc. Not once.

I like to think I'm pretty objective about these things - maybe because I don't really care who the best U14 girls soccer team in MA is - but I'd say they are as good as pretty much any team we play in the NE ECNL and anyone that says differently is just fooling themselves. Which, for the NE ECNL, means they'd slot right into the middle of the mess with everyone else and would probably end up top third because of their consistency. They'd lose some games, tie some games but win more than they lose.

I just completely disagree with this. They'd beat FSA every time they play. The game would be closer than NEFC is used to in league play but unlike the Stars teams, particularly Blue - it seems like White may be settling in, that swing wildly from good to terrible performance, NEFC would bring a good game every time. This would serve them well in ECNL. Could they lose to East Meadow? Sure. But I bet they beat East Meadow more often than not. Same for World Class. Their games against Scorpions would end up exactly like their games against Stars Blue. They could win. They could lose. But most often they'd tie. I think their record against CFC and SUSA would be .500 or less but those games wouldn't end up 3-0 like Blue might surrender on a day they swing low on their roller coaster. The NE ECNL should be pretty compressed and NEFC would fit in just fine.

FC Stars do not get equal playing time. Watch the videos up on YouTube and you’ll see. I’ve heard some players will be lucky if they get 10 minutes playing time in a game while others play the whole game or close to it. FC stars 2006 and 2005 teams carry over 20 on the roster.

Stars dad is strange. We know that NEFC is better (at least more consistent) than Stars but still only middle of table in ECNL. Does that somehow make him feel better? It like you’re better than us but you still stink. Snorts arrogantly

I’ll say this, Nefc is the best non-ecnl team we played this year.

                    1. Nefc
                    2. Dynamite academy
                    3. Ginga
                    4. Select

I agree they would be right in the mid table mix in league play, but clearly a step behind Susa, CFC, Match Fit and way behind PDA blue.

None of this matters because NEFC isnt getting into the ECNL. Not now, not ever. Great for these teams to get a chance to play. Select and NEFC will go on to enjoy their GAL seasons and Stars W/B and Scorps will continue on with their ECNL seasons. And that is really all there is to it.

I’m betting they would be in the middle or bottom third. Thoughts?
They have shown the ability to consistently show up every single game. That alone would put them in the middle third.

True. The dynamic though is a little different once you reach recruiting age and many families balance less playing time vs exposure. Teams also tend to treat showcase playing time a little differently than league playing time ie. they try to make sure everyone gets some reasonable exposure at showcases. Not weighing in one way or another whether this is good or bad but it is a bit of a different calculus. At 07 (and below) I'm a big believer that everyone should get real playing time since development is more important than anything else (sorry TS wins/losses dads/moms). But, in my experience what you're seeing on here is what most clubs do and there are kids lower on the roster getting much less time. I don't like it but the fact is they have to decide whether it's worth it or whether they should go to another team for more PT.

Truth, great weekend! No reason these games shouldn’t be played every preseason. Better yet, take all the best players from each respective team NE Select starpions perhaps, then see how far behind PDA that group would be.

This has been debated over and over again, but if your travel hours to play 10 minutes a game, get out of there. Right away. Your dealing with a coach who cares about wins and nothing more. I have heard fc stars and scorpion is especially unfair with playing time. If your not good enough to get more than 10 minutes in a game, you really think your good enough to play D1?

I’d like to see the ECNL teams get to play NEFC a couple times a year in local tournaments.
