Would be a good source if it was only a year worth of games, but it goes back years to calibrate rankings and some of these teams have almost none of the same players.

Umm.... maybe? The scores only go back one year but it is a good question how they are kickstarted. However the score as of Aug 2019 was based on the team at the time so it seems fair to consider the year before in calculating the score at that point, no?

The thing to do is to look at your teams page and then focus on the green and red arrows. Those are the games that you did significantly better or worse than the expected spread. Do those "feel" right to you? My kid's team lost 0-1 to a much better team and they got a green up arrow and a little bump in the score because they were expected to have lost by 3 (by subtracting the opponents ranking score from ours). That "feels" right to me anyway.

SUSA & CFC are were the two strongest teams in the fall. After that Scorpions, Stars Blue, World Class, East Meadow & PDA White were all very close. FSA & Stars White were the bottom two, but still competitive.

The bottom two beat and tied some of the middle teams and some of the middle teams beat the top two.

Couldn’t be much more balanced really.

World Class, PDA, STA are typically good clubs, and add in CFC for 07 group. If that’s not top heavy then my apologies, our definitions are just different.

Are there significant ranking changes you disagree with?
Are there games missing?

Certainly covid has thrown a curve where tournament games that normally would have been played. But that applies to every team although maybe more for some?

YSR claims to have 65% predictive accuracy. Nobody is claiming it is perfect.

You are just bent because your preferred team isn't at the top?

How would you design a system that doesn't use historical record? Let's say you restrict to only games played in last 12 months? How would you compare a 12-3-1 NEP team vs 4-4-2 ECNL? Serious question! Let's make a better mousetrap here!
