Because it's an anonymous forum, and there are no repercussions for anything said on here.

Hope I don’t share a sideline with someone who uses anonymity to take down 12 year old girls. Gross.

Same type has been playing 1v1 with their kids in every sport imaginable and still brags about being undefeated against them. Heck, most of them were over 8 before they weren't being shut out any longer.

Just because your daughter wasn't good enough you have to cry about others

To them, every minute playing outside their system is a minute of soiling the scientific sample. They can't mark their program results with outside influences. Those 5 months away cannot be pulled back.

Not trying to convince you one way or the other. That is their reasoning and that is why they are so against it. If you wish HS to be a big part of your kid's playing, then they suggest you go elsewhere.
Again it's not what I want, it's what my D wants. And it would be completely fine if the reasoning was for everyone on the team across the board... then why the waivers for select few? Why is it okay for some to depart for 5 months (coaches favorites, private school bs, etc.) and others need to follow the DA rules....

The answer is it’s not ok. But it’s a loophole and for now one they are. Ot willing to close while the league gains market share.

Private is different as it’s a requirement for school. Public doesn’t get a true waiver, that’s where the loophole comes in

In theory the private school waivers are so kids receiving $ to play and/or have a participation requirement won't be denied their education opportunities. True waivers have to applied for and the school has to fill out a form. I'm on the fence with this one.

The theory if loophole waivers is the ability to add previously undiscovered players or players who are part time that want DA fulltime. It works well here because kids play HS in the fall then get added to a DA roster once they finish. For most HS players it it's about 2.5 months. How well it works in other areas where they play winter or spring I don't know. Winter is very quiet so it could work well. Spring has a showcase and end of season play. The problem is the loophole is a mile wide (players can be added until April) making it easy to abuse.

Reality is that there isn't enough quality talent to go around so clubs will do what they need to attract players they really want. If there were fewer DA clubs they wouldnt have to monkey with waivers and loopholes. But with USSFs strategy of maximizing market share, I don't see the loophole closing any time soon.

Which local 2007 teams are doing 2020 Jefferson cup?

Last year had Select, Stars, Scorpions, SPOL & GPS. Only notable absence was NEFC.

Bayside FC AS WELL, got to give the group some credit. They play excellent soccer.

It’s an application by the teams not an invitation by the tournament.

Must be a different Bayside than the one I am familiar with. Reminded me more of Raiders of the 70's than youth soccer today...
