As teams are formed the reality is the pecking order is Blue ECNL, White ECNL, Blue Regional, White Regional. See why a call up is unlikely?
Girls are
driving long distances coming from strong teams like SPOL, Aztec, NEFC who are doing well in NPL in the NEP, only to lose every game. What a travesty.

The driving all over the east coast is something the majority of us agree is entirely unnecessary, though.

There are a handful of clubs with two teams: Stars, PDA, Eclipse Select, Concord Fire, Sting, Michigan Hawks, Slammers and Crossfire. I think that’s it. Anyways, each clubs “Blue & White” or “North & South” however they designate them are treated by the league as entirely different clubs for the purpose of that rule.
I’m not a big fan of the two teams if they are out of the same location. However, some of these are geographically separated, for example, Sting Dallas and Sting Austin in TX, which makes more sense.

Responding to my own post, the two teams for Sting and Crossfire are three hour drives away from each other. The two Slammers teams are an hour apart.
The rest are at least listed on the ECNL website as being out of the same city. I suspect like Stars most probably are, as both Stars teams practice out of the same fields in Lancaster.

List teams:
Stars White ECNL
Stats Blue ECNL
Scorpions ECNL
Select Pre-DA
NEFC Pre-DA
GPS NPL
Aztec NPL
SPOL NPL
Let’s see who moved where, who ate their Wheaties and who kept up with their training over the winter. Less than 2 months until the first tournament of the spring.

I would be very weary to come across any of them and write them off as a B or C team and an easy win....

The talent drain will happen as families don't want to miss the Spring sophomore year showcases given the rules around contact on June 15 after sophomore year now. NPL teams just don't draw the interest. When you show up for College ID camps, often they separate players into groups of DA/ECNL and everyone else. I get that everyone thinks their kid's team is currently the best. Doesn't matter. Jefferson Cup doesn't generate the interest as others leagues. Once parents realize and start leaving, it's tough for the remaining families...

The reality is with the new recruiting rules, you will see big moves of players looking for DA/ECNL teams regardless of how good their current team is in NPL just to get the college exposure. Both top leagues generate tons of coach interest from Freshmen year on. ECNL Florida Showcase, which was 2022-2020's had 650 coaches, with a majority of D1 programs present. I'm sure DA showcases are similar.

This is pretty accurate - so what should a smart consumer do? Stay on your NON ECNL/DA team until sophomore year of high school. Generally the non ECNL /DA teams are better developmentally because they don’t have the stupid limited substitute rule. Doesn’t really benefit young kids to be pulled out of a game told what to do but then can’t go back to try and implement what the coach said. It also results in players being pigeonholed in certain positions bc the coach doesn’t have the flexibility to sub freely. So stay on your EDP /NL team until U16, subsidize with some good outside technical training, save some money and time because there isn’t as much travel and then if your kid decides they want D1 soccer switch to an ECNL/DA team at u16. ECNL/DA are not needed until the u16 age
