to be honest, it could be a parent from many teams. this is a common gripe. sometimes it is real and the coach has favorites. sometimes it is just parents unhappy that the best players are getting more playing time than their kid.

Five horse race for title of "baddest little team in the land" U14 addition.

At the 2007 age NEFC has always been good, as has Select. Stars Blue & White as well as Scorpions will all have added and subtracted players as kids typically start to gravitate towards ECNL around now. I suspect all three will be better versions of their U13 selves. These teams were closer than you think last year if you look at the scores.

Labor day, thanksgiving and memorial day tournaments should be three chances for head to head games between the two leagues. That, plus home/away league games should give us some good head to head match ups.

Too early to stack them as tryouts haven't even occurred and there are still some roster spots in play.

Stars Cup is 95 days away. I'd expect NEFC, Scorpions, Stars Blue & Stars White. Select was a no show last year, but has always participated in years past. Hopefully Select is in.

Otherwise, the top brackets should be stacked again with ECNL clubs like PDA, SUSA, Match Fit, World Class & East Meadow.

I think people will be itching to play by then after spending the summer outside, and if GA & ECNL are starting up league games in early September, we are going to be driving to all over NH/MA/CT/NY/NJ anyways.

People are already itching to play! But, we don't know what the travel situation will be by August. It also wouldn't surprise me if leagues like ECNL design their schedules to backload travel so, for example, Stars White & Blue play each other, then Scorps then clubs that don't require overnight travel and leave the overnight travel until Oct.

I don't think the league games even started last fall until mid-September.

of course it's insane. and, we know none of it matters at U13 and it will all change when the girls grow up. still, except for those lunatics who call out particular kids (usually their own) or use the forum for personal attacks on coaches, it's harmless. so why should you care?
