What are the odds of cracking the 2007 NEFC DA team? They don’t have a single weak player on that team. Can’t see them adding anyone to that roster.

It would have to be a top 9 player if nobody else leaves. I agree they don't have any weak players, but they all are not standouts either. They would move a bottom 9 player down to NPL for an impact player.

They have 3 field players that are a cut above, and the same can be said of their keeper. The rest are interchangeable amongst the list teams like the top 10-12 or so kids on the other list teams.

I’d say that number is far greater than 3 for field players.

The rest are very good, no doubt. They all fit well with NEFC’s style, as well, but if you think that there are more than 3, maybe 4, that are inarguably better than other list teams’ top players, you need to take of the dad goggles.

Like most clubs. They love to take your money, but they care very little about training and bringing their own players up. They consider their players replaceable in a heartbeat , if somebody from another club shows up , whom they consider superior over their own. If they were truly about development, they would prioritize their players already rostered, and work to help them rise up.If they cannot do this, they should refund their money, or help the player find a better club to develop at.

If we held an NFL draft style combine of all the list team players 5-6 of the top 10 would be from teams other than NEFC. NEFC would grab any one of those kids in a second. Same logic applies to players 11-20, 21-30.

NEFC is the best team in the state for a lot of reasons: coaching, style of play, talent of the girls, longevity of playing together, etc. However, they do not have the best 16 players in the state on their roster as some of you seem to believe.

Honestly, that's the case with most teams. The very best teams have 2-3 players who may be better than the rest. Then you have a mix of the next 8-10 players who are interchangeable across almost all teams. Your last few are usually out of place on the team.

Agree 100%. NEFC is clearly an excellent team but based on what I've seen most of the other top teams in the state have at least some players that would start on NEFC. This isn't a knock on NEFC. They have strong players and great depth. It's just the reality of our club system. No one team has cornered the market on the best players.

Haven’t seen any standouts on Stars or Scorpions. This is not in any way a knock. Both clubs have strong players from what I saw, just not any in that “cut above” category. Both clubs definitely have kids out of place, though.

Define “cut above” because Scorpions 2007 center back and center mid are both exceptional.

Don’t understand this comment. Scorpions is a first year team and played select to a 0-1 game (while missing key kids and the coach) and Nefc to a 1-2 game in the first game the team ever played together.

                            I think a 0-2 record should be self-evident, no?

Notice how the knives come out and 6/7th graders get called out? Whatever happened to the friendly lists from a couple years ago? Can’t wait to see how this thread is in a couple years when these kids hit HS. By then, you’ll be naming names. You were warned...

How has Select done against NEFC the last 10 times they have played?
