It definitely is and many do, although obviously it tends to be limited in scope. Personal connections matter. Like was said above coaches don't want to hoist a player onto a college program that won't succeed. College coaches won't come back in the future.

Is it that other clubs don’t have the talent or they don’t have the connections because Stars is a clear leader. I’m not a Stars parent so genuinely trying to understand because the other clubs have talent .

They have the most talent in one spot, according to Jason and Graeme at least. Play a brutal style of soccer though.

A few questions you need to ask:

          1. how many attend isl schools? If you can afford an isl school, money is probably not an issue for college. Kids can perform academically, but may not need as much scholarship funds. Opens up another set of schools.

          2. Whats better - close to full ride at public or partial private? BC, BU are over 80k a year. Uconn 36k.

          3. How much do they want to play and what is the goal? Do they want to go to a better academic school because they play soccer, or do they want to play soccer at a lesser school? Not always the choice, but something to recognize.

"brutal" in what way? It doesn't make sense that all these colleges are interested in brutal style of soccer.

HEHE they must be either really good salesmen to pull the wool over hundreds of D1 coaches, or what they say is true. Either way that's impressive.

Stars has a lot of (not all) the talent and over the years have created a reputation and established connections. They are not the only show in town but theyre a good one. NEFC has also had a good rep. Scorpions maybe on the rise. All these things are sorta cyclical too.

Scorpions has no where near the college connections as the other top clubs.
