Top programs are hand holders, the academic advantages that athletes have is insane, The schools have a vested interest in making sure their athletes succeed in the classroom and put dollars behind that interest. Even the schools that are harder to get into will make sure your student athlete succeeds, if they don’t, then it certainly won’t be because the school failed them.

it’s more the kid might not be academically a fit for the school. Not the school resources.

Thats really not saying much! They couldn't be any worse for sure. 07's were closer to Empire United than NEFC. After finishing in nearly last place in GAL there is no where to go but up.

What is the main value of ODP? Were people happy with it? Was there daughter happy with it?

At the younger ages it was good extra training and exposure to new coaches, at u16 I don't see as much value. If you live close to Marlborough and Lancaster it would be a nice compliment of training, but if your daughter is just starting now it will be tough to make the regional camps.

Recruiting question. Trying to figure out which events/games are the most important at ECNL/GA level.

1. End of year league playoffs (most coaches in attendance?)
2. League showcases (Lots of coaches in attendance)
3. League games (higher a team is ranked, better the playoff competition, more coaches).
4. Non-league large showcases like Jefferson Cup
5. Club run ID events (various schools come out to see a particular club’s HS aged players)
6. ID events at colleges ($ grab or useful?)
7. Late fall local “Showcases” (NEFC-Stars). Not much recruiting value?

Only so much time and money for this. Thoughts?

For the selected target colleges, go for 6. ID camps at colleges. Surely it's $grab but the coach replies 100% of the time (pretty much the only event on the list where the coach always replies) and then you get to speak directly with the coach.

7. NEFC showcase last weekend had a bunch of local coaches hanging around Lancaster watching ECNL and GA games.
