Um no. Playing for one of the top academies in the world puts you in a position to get into any school and opens doors the Seacoast player can only dream of.

The USYNT door sure seems to be open for them and not the Portuguese contingent. I bet the Seacoast(Sounders) moms never had to tweet out “accomplishments.”

One player is headed to Yale and another to Maryland.

Am I just missing the open doors for the 2 boys in Portugal?

Soccer isn’t impressive unless you’re being recruited. Schools look at “high level” soccer like band camp on an unhooked application.

NCAA eligibility is only in jeopardy if you’re playing professionally. Who are you people? You’re clearly not experts beyond ‘what college will my kid get into????’

Out of sight, out of mind. The foolhardy parents segregated their poor children and put their hopes and dreams ahead of the best interest of their kids. The world is full of ex-pat kids with snowplow parents. It doesn’t impress admissions unless there’s an actual hook associated with it. Since the USYNT isn’t knocking down their door and the mom keeps tweeting about professional contracts the kids are becoming less viable applicants day by day. The Revs own their rights and haven’t even considered a homegrown contract. What am I missing? Hopefully the kids are having fun on vacation.

Does he tag the men’s national team? Lots of parents tweet about their kids accomplishments. I don’t see anything wrong with that. It’s just weird to tag the men’s national team especially since her kids are not on it.
