No, all you TS posters suck. Who cares what the family does? How does it impact your lives? It doesn't. Let them make their own choices with possible mistakes along the way, you make yours. No it isn't how it works, but there's no harm in it either other than potential emotional damage. But I know a family with twin girls who were right at the cutoff age for school - they would have been the youngest in their grade. Family had an opportunity to go to the husband's home country for a year of work. They did that, traveled like crazy, learned a new language and came back in the younger grade with little impact. Most kids adjust and make new friends easily. The family could also be hoping to get them into a prep school up returning where lots of kids repeat 9th grade or do a PG year.
