To become a better player? To have a life experience? Even if it doesn't work out for him, he's going to turn into a good player and his life experience will make for a great college essay. Amazing the amount of vitriol for one player and family. If they screw it up who cares? Their choice. I bet they don't approve of all your child rearing choices either. To each his own.

Again, who cares? But I'm a risk taker and believe in going through life with no regrets. If it doesn't work out at least you tried and learned a few things a long the way.

Thank goodness my child doesn't need to live in Portugal to manufacture his college essay.

They'll be better than everyone in a few months though.

If they're not good, your kid downright sucks. Come on!

Your kid's childhood is not about a college essay. Someday you'll wake up filled with regret. No, I take that back. He will.

No, those two brothers suck to all who have watched them play but apparently dad has not put down his rose colored glasses.

No, all you TS posters suck. Who cares what the family does? How does it impact your lives? It doesn't. Let them make their own choices with possible mistakes along the way, you make yours. Better yet, please post your family' choices and your player's soccer credentials so TS posters can hack that to pieces as well. A little taste of your own medicine.

If anyone wonders why you don't want your kid discussed on TS, this thread is the epitome of that.

If they remained at the Revs, with subpar training and coaching, they'd probably be out of the DA system by U16, with maybe an option to play D3 in college. Dad probably realizes this after this first year in DA. The only option is to go abroad, and hope the better training will give them that boost to at least become D1 level players. Still not what they were aiming for (pro), but certainly easier to swallow than their prospects staying with the Revs.

I'm sure they've beat your son's team many times.

Why would they be out, specifically? Doesn't everyone receive subpar training at the Revs? And most of those other kids have started at a level much lower than these two.

Of course we will "let them make their own choices", but the choices they have imposed on their minor children is akin to abuse. Their father is living vicariously through them. His wife should demand a divorce from this obvious lunatic. as the poster said, the boys are just run of the mill average soccer players. They are definitely not pro skillset players here in North America, nevermind Europe

Uh, what? Listen, DL needs medication. His boys aren't good.
