Seems like the top players always get their way around here. Fair? Not always.
      Bolts aren't charging them either.

RR was diagnosed this past year by the Revs physicians as having a portion of his hypothalamus being severely damaged at birth.

So what? Half a season, great talent. Those players aren't free agents for long.

Both Tab Ramos and Claudio Reyna were prep school products. St. Benedict's private high school in NY. American National team legends.

Fast forward to the modern era, and Reyna's son is taking on-line high school courses.

                  His reptilian brain was intact.

I have no connection with Academies at all (i.e. admitting ignorance on topic). Isn't the general "rule" no waivers? So, I get it that there are ways around the system, etc... but could it be that some teams/coaches take that to be the actual RULE to be followed. In which case,*why argue that? I get it that it may make a possible weaker team, but honestly... what about all the other players who follow the rules, give up HS and then play on a team where they have a few of their better players as no-shows until spring? I mean that must have a negative effect on the players who do play by the rules. What a strange situation.

Nothing strange about it actually seeing that waivers were created especially in this area where the number of prep schools far out number other areas in the country.. so taking away the waivers is going to create some push back for those caught in the middle. The ones grandfathered should however continue to get what they were promised.

It seems like the Revs are more concerned about control than actually developing great players. What is truly concerning is the suppression of all players but the "chosen" few and even they are not getting "high level" training.

Some clubs allow it, some do not, because like you said it creates many problems. It is allowed by USSF with club approval (first hurdle) and USSF (second). Unfortunately it's the club that holds the power on it. In general it is reserved for stud private school players, but not always and it's the inconsistencies that drives people batty. In a perfect world it would be no waivers, no exceptions. But is it fair to deny a promising player a chance to play at the highest level just because he's fortunate enough to attend private school? Not an easy question to answer is it?

Totally agree that if you were told yes it should stick for as long as you're with the club. Revoking it is bullshi*. This will be a big issue with GDA - many girls are being told they can play HS and next year, but it will probably be revoked for many after year 1 when clubs see what a mess it creates.
