The revs are not sending players Overseas. It is the player deciding to tryout with another club. Look back at Felix DB a few years ago when he was on the revs academy roster and then appeared on the amateur roster for Malaga in Spain. They cannot collect a transfer fee for underage players. The only way for the revs to collect their investment in academy players is with the homegrown status. If a player makes it to MLS, the revs would own his rights.

It's good that the young 16 got it out of his stem
System. At the end of the day they just want to play soccer.

Hey he took a chance. Not many kids will. Better to take chances than have regrets for not trying. He'll be just fine and I'm sure learned a great deal about himself, soccer, his path etc. all good stuff

All good stuff?? He's off the Revs for good. Believe me, not just the Spring. And, he's only a sophomore. How is that "all good stuff"? My guess is that he hates his father's guts right now.

Do you really think he went kicking and screaming with the dad forcing him? If he's good he'll be fine. Another team will be happy to have him.

Clearly, he was not happy at the Revs and wanted more. Good for him. He will get there. He took the first, important step. Go JF!

Things usually turn out pretty well for players who leave the Revs of their own accord...and even for those shown the door.

Usually when you quit to go elsewhere they don't come begging to join back. Then again there's always more to the story. I'm more intrigued by the Justin Rennicks situation. National team player seeking winter training prior to national team camp. How do the Revs justify a punishment for a kid improving on himself while it didn't cost them a dime. Odd behavior from a club dedicated to player development.

Do you have any historic evidence of this? or is it fake news? Typically, players who are shown the door by the Revs for whatever reason, end up across the pond onto the Bolts or Seacoast. The Revs may not be at the Gold standard of talent identification but they do know when players don't exhibit professional traits and characteristics. They part ways with them and wish them the best.

The story is that Rennicks needed permission by the New England Revolution to train with other clubs. He wasn't given the go ahead. Point, paragraph the end. Not that complicated

Clearly his dad wasn't happy, since he lives vicariously through his kid. Pretty common in men that are barely 5 foot 6.

The Jersey turnpike is pretty rough to the NYRB facilities around rush hour. What other club are you talking about? Rest assured it'll be the Bolts or Seacoast (Brazilian connection there).
Oh and another thing, he's not that good.

His dad is one of the nicest men you could meet, you on the other hand sound less than nice. I am sure it is just the TS addiction talking.

Who holds the Revs accountable when they don't exhibit professional behavior?
