Does anyone know how this works (more activity in certain years, or more preparation targeting certain birth years in conjunction with future U17 World Cup years, etc.)?
Dad, before you announce that your Valeo boy is trialing at Real Madrid, realize that US Soccer works in mysterious ways. Keep that champagne corked.

I think I might rather pay and have my player get equal training and treatment, rather than deal with a club that gives only a certain few the required 4 days of training (unless my kid is one of the chosen ones, of course).
So you think the Bolts or Seacoast players (Revs rejects) get equal playing time and treatment? You are serious mistaken.

They already did this month. Simple, if you don't follow the rules, you are off the team.

You mean like sign with an international club?

            Sure if you say so.

How would you know the poster is mistaken unless you had players on all teams (Revs, Seacoast, Bolts) in order to compare. My experience tells me the Revs are probably in last place in time spent training. Three (at best) 1.5 hour practices per week ain't tough to beat. It's actually shows a complete lack of commitment imho. And the results are born out at the U18 level. The Revs undeniably get the best talent at the younger ages. They proceed to do very little with that talent which results in very close u18 games will all local teams.

I wish you Rev sycophants would smarten up. Isn't the obvious lack of commitment to the MLS team enough of a clue that these folks don't really care about playing exceptional soccer?

Proof has been in the pudding for a long time. There's been no change in management or coaching. Why anyone would think it will be different when their kid is there is beyond me. Kraft doesn't want to spend to improve the prospects of the professional team - you know something that might bring him MORE money down the road - so why would he spend a nickel more than he has to in order to run a program that thus far hasn't brought in anything in terms of financial or talent rewards?

No DAP team is going to give equal playing time (never said that), except perhaps at the U12 level. However, every DAP team should give equal training time to all of its players to ensure development of everyone on the team. How are the borderline 9-13th players on the roster supposed to break into the top 8 when the top 8 are getting extra training time. Cutting down training time for all players but a select few just to save money is a cheap as it gets.

As is the hypocrisy of stating you can't do outside training/games, yet turning a blind eye when certain players do it with no consequences

Nobody and I mean nobody can predict who will maintain professional potential at age 12/13.

Yet the Revs have already chosen the players who they are willing to somewhat develop leaving the majority in the wind.

I think that it is absolutely shameful that the NE Revolution have not acknowledged that they had an academy player drafted into the MLS. How is this showing support for the players you produced? They are run by low life scum!!

Revs really ought to show a little bit more interest in how they are perceived in the community. It really doesn't take much to unravel a program. If prospects get wind of hypocrisy, secret training for certain players, less than required amount of training, poor focus on developing all players, etc., especially at the younger ages where players from alliance clubs are all too happy to share complaints with former club members, flow through the pipeline can quickly slow to a trickle. One or two years of attracting less than top players and performance can start to fall off quickly. Then comes the snowball effect, with top players looking elsewhere subsequent years, especially as non-MLS DA clubs find ways to heavily subsidize their programs. If I were one of the non-MLS clubs in the area, I'd get my ship in order, as it may be easier to attract the best when the Revs are sabotaging themselves.

I've has 4 children who all played youth soccer over a variety of clubs, and nobody played better favorites than the Revs. If you are not one of the favorites the coaches act like you are a nuisance to them. it is absurd. The only thing this team has going for them is the fact that they are free.

And the only MLS game in town. Many other single-team MLS clubs in other cities are doing a nice job with their academies. It's all about will power and Kraft has none.

They aren't even going after their homegrowns! That is 2 in the last two years drafted by other teams.
