You'll be singing a different song when the MLS pulls out of the DA and then you can't say, but our team beats the Revs.
I only type those words, I never speak them. They’re saved specifically for sanctimonious shnitheads on TS. If the Revs has anything to offer my son would have accepted.

Sorry your kid didn’t have the drive to compete at the top level.

it's already a profit center with the RDS - too many signup and foolishly dole away their money. Scales and most of his staff need to go though. Anyone with a soccer brain can see he's a charlatan. No longer protected by his college roomie, Bruce Arena must do the right thing and let him go.

RDS helps cover the cost of DA. It's not cheap training all those kids, even when you only spend the bare minimum. Other clubs have RDS programs but spend much more on their DA teams. The changes in homegrown fees will hopefully incentivize clubs to develop more players. But that will take time to come to fruition and to profit from that you have to actually, you know, develop players. The Revs track record on home growns is terrible.

              Rec > BAYS > MAPLE > NEP > NPL > D1

See post #13596. Good luck at the Revs. Their D1 track record is atrocious.

They're taking credit for a prep school PG year kid who has played two games with them and is committed to UNC. So typical of the Revs.

I agree. Rec soccer is greater than all of those other options.

Scales was a symptom of a bigger problem with management. Now that has been solved he will go soon. And his cowering crew of yes-men.

                        From NE Soccer Journal:

"Arena added that Homegrown Players are also part of the plan and that he will “be bringing some people that have expertise” in player development “to help move us along” and “build a product” that produces first-team contributors. New England currently doesn’t have a USL arm and its academy, under Bryan Scales, has produced mixed results as compared to the rest of MLS."

He was a terrible hire. ...and his record in previous organizations should have been a big red flag but no, Burns had to hire his buddy. Gary hall not so bad- hope Arena keeps him and fire Scales.

Right. Arena was a terrible hire. Another old man cog without international experience. Last night should have shown what a difference there is in Futbol v American whatever that was. Did you see the grass though? That was progress.

What Arena actually said is “under Bryan Scales the academy has produced completely pathetic results compared to every conceivable benchmark.”
