There are definitely issues with HG players. Clubs don’t get paid like they do in Europe for development. Something about child labor laws in US is my understanding. So they sign kids at ridiculously young ages like 15 to lock them in if they have any potential. It is like handcuffing them to the team. Problem at Revs is development is so bad the story doesn’t end well. On the flip side watched the kid from Philly Union start against ATL and score. It just boils down to different philosophies within the constraints of the system I guess.

Take your son to a top team at any other large club and they will become better soccer players and more well rounded young men. You’ll need to buy a different magnet but your son will end up playing at a better college in the end. I’d much rather have a Revs magnet in the trash now, and a BC sticker on my car later, than ride a “luxury bus.”

They buy the magnet for the Tahoe, the jersey for the sideline and they happily mortgage their child’s development for bragging rights. Only a select few come to their senses before it’s too late.
