I have an honest question. Even if your team is the best in the country, how in the world do you justify missing an entire week of school to play a seemingly pointless soccer tournament? School comes first in our house.

That would be the right answer. Good players with good grades have many more options than those missing the grades component.

        Missing weeks of school.

Missing out on high school soccer.

Missing out on extracurricular activities that bolster your college applications.

Missing out on social events with family and friends.

Is DA soccer really worth it when you realize 2/3 of the kids going on to college soccer from MA are simply playing NPL and not DA.

My son used to play DAP. He left voluntarily and all turned out great for him. He did miss school while in DAP. We were proactive and talked to administration and teachers. Both were more than supportive. Grades were good because of it. Missing exams at end of the year were kind of a pain, but he got through it.

DAP is not for everyone. The Generations Adidas tournament is one of the most watched youth tournaments in the world. Obviously, if the team is doing well you could not match the exposure for colleges. This current Revs team is a different story.

Oh my god- give it up! Leave the 2003's at home. The GA Cup is not about development. It's about WINNING.

The Champions division was won mostly by foreign teams.

This thread is the Tom Brady of Talking Soccer. It's already the #1 thread ever on TS and it just keeps pouring it on. I predict it gets to over 10,000 replies before all is said and done. It may last longer than the Krafts do with the Revs.
