Doubt it, he'll have his hands full with the first team. Until Scales is replaced, which I don't see happening anytime soon, the academy will just keep the status quo. Perhaps, if this new coach is really forward thinking, a few more of the top academy kids will get better opportunities than Heaps allowed. Best we can hope for is an increase in homegrown signings, but I doubt someone new to the organization will have a significant impact on that right out of the gate with Burns holding the keys.

      Burns holding keys spot on.
Burns had to reach into his friend network to find someone, anyone, to take the position.
Define "will things change."

They'll change the website to add the new guy. Does that count?

              Officially an Epic Fail.

Hear the Revs Academy after having their two top aged group teams lose to the Bolts recently, is an absolute shi t show!! Lots of kids not playing significant minutes ,or at all and parents losing their cool with coaches in a public manner. Bryan Scales needs to go back to his day job, the sh t has hit the proverbial fan!!

Get all my info from Revs kids and chatrooms.

Those players (and parents) need to realize the Revs DA isn't about the team's (teams') results but about individual player development trajectories, which the coaches and staff map out from U14 if not before. They battle-harden the younger players by playing them up 1 or 2 age groups, even if the short-term impact hurts the team.

Only one 2003 played up on u17 and only one real 2001 played up on u19. Then there is daddy's boy who has no business sitting on the bench for an NPL team but that's another story altogether.

What's up with *this* 03 playing up? What about the other boys?

If you haven't figured out the Revs only care about a handful of chosen few you must be blind, or brand new to the club.

Exactly. Parents on u17 team love this also.

You do realize that DA encourages playing up of appropriate players right? If the older kids can't compete for PT against a younger player that should tell them where they fit in the organization's priority list.

It's on the table for kid #2. Good education and less BS. We're in if the $ work.
