To the GUEST who left the following comment:
Why don't you just start a new topic about a boys' only issue. Take the first step and not just complain. It's easy - hit NEW TOPIC

Thanks for the Computer Lesson. I have tried on more than one occasion to bring any topic around to boys. Not even just about boys solely just inclusive of boys. On the past forum and this one. If you take it as a complaint so be it. Just trying to bring the other side of the soccer world - Boys into conversation.

Comments from "Guests" like you make it so easy to just forget it about it" and move on. Just trying for balance.

You can force a topic to include boys if there is no interest. Boys soocer is a little different and the mix of clubs and their issues is going to be different as well. Starting a brand new topic is a good idea. I'll even start it for you.

First of all it's not your username. You need to register your name with a legit e-mail in order to get a username. Defender1 has been used as a guest. The second time you used it you misspelled the name as "defemder1" Check your quote above. Not trying to be picky, but it is so hard to discuss issues with people unless you know who you are discussing it with. I've had to respond to more people named GUEST and I never know if it's the same person or different ones. Also, you cannot leave private messages to GUESTS or unregistered users. Sometimes you would like to respond to something but it's might be more appropriate to respond in a PM rather than an open forum.

          Just my .02 cents

As MASoccer said, it's not your username. If you want it to be, you need to register. Until then, ANYONE can use Defender1, which is no better than Guest.

Wow - this Forum really makes one want to continue to post.

Claims to users names - wonder how many pages that can lead to. My eternal apologies. I distinctly remember when I strated trying to log in with a Defender user name and it wouldn't allow me to to saying Defender already existed. So I went with Defender1. Silly me thought it was unique.

Done with posting. Done with trying to steer some topics away from MPS and Stars and Bolts 24-7. So guess what you win. You can have Defender1.

              Adios.

                  As my kids say "whatever".

All I did was try to post. You and several others don't make it inviting to offer an opinion, try to switch topics unless we follows some vague imposed rules.

I really did try to follow not posting under the Guest umbrella. I may not have been 100% literate in Computer but I tried. You really made it univiting so I will be done. No martydom here just whatever.

Double sigh right back to you..........

Of course its about cost...everything is about cost and if ANY coach, DOC, president, etc tells you otherwise duck because their nose will start to grow.

MPS has a different organizational structure that most, if not all MAPLE clubs. Just like your percentages of your tax dollar supports various government entities/programs, some of the MPS fees goes to support the MPS first teams that play in PDL and everything associated with it: travel, lodging, per diems, etc.

It's always easy to give up.

If you want a username, you just register. If you want to include more boys' issues, just start a new topic instead of "trying to steer some topics away" from their current line of thought.

In time you've spent complaining, you could have registered and added some new topics that I'm sure others may have enjoyed.

But as you say, whatever. Martydom is easier

Defender, don't go away. People aren't trying to offend you or put you down. Try to register again. If Defender1 doesn't work, try Defender11 or something else until it does work. That's the only point people are trying to make.

BTW I am interested in the topics on boys soccer even though I do not have sons playing, so my comments would be second hand. I will post a question in the thread you started. Perhaps someone can answer it.

If you look under your 'username' on the left you'll see its labelled as 'Guest' where mine says something else: TS regular or something. As long as you post without actually registering anyone can post as Defender1

Nothing against MPS, they do a lot of things well. But in regards to quality on the field (not hype and publicity) they aren't yet even a top 20 program in Region 1.
Here is the rub with MPS, they do appear to do an awful lot right. This is why they have such ardent supporters and why this thread is so popular. The problem that everyone but their supporters see is that they spread their players and resources very thin. I think that if they focused more on developing the strongest team possible instead of growing the size of the organization they absolutely could be one of the top clubs in the state.
How can they come up with great teams if they have to have up to 26 players in the roster- so they can profit. Basically they take any player that was cut from any team or any one that says he/she is a soccer player. And unfortunately we have parents like you that buy the program even if their kids don't play- blindly they say: It is part of development!
$$$ comes first on MPS staff eyes. Then the BS that you buy. What about this: MPS is a great refuge for players that can't play at or cut from good clubs.
Finally!!! I was getting worried that MPS bashing had ended and that the Stars had become the evil empire. Those other none $$$ hungry clubs set up first, second, third ... teams in Maple for altruistic reasons but never for $$$ ... sure. MPS has moved to PD (player development) teams at the younger ages to avoid the over rostering on the premier teams which is mentioned above. Parents go in understanding that only 18 girls are rostered for a game. The coaches are honest up front with who will play and who won't. If those parents and girls aren't happy, they'll move on. It's the same message given at Maple teams when a player is on the 2nd/3rd team. Will some move up to the first team, unlikely but parents stick with it. I guess they buy the BS too .... Maybe the girls are happy and like the challenge.

As for the refuge, ask the Hamlets/Puma/Nova/Eagles and other clubs where some of their top players have gone. Some to Stars ... some to Scorps and many to MPS.

Anyway, it's nice to have the bashing back. It used to be about how MPS was poaching all of the best players. Now they are a refuge for the girls who can't play. At least this board is back for some entertainment.
I was talking to a dad who has a daughter on the U15s (mine is U12 going to U13 next year on MPS). He said he (and she) were thrilled that the team made it to the Round Robin this year, played close with the Stars and Scorps and beat the Aztecs. The team is now top tier in the state with players who also are talented in other sports as well (State Lacrosse champ player, State Basketball champ player, top ISL soocer/lacrosse/hockey players on Rivers/Middlesex/Nobles).

Sounds like MPS is doing something right. Attacting well rounded and talented athletes who enjoy playing together and do very well. Nice 'refuge' for these players/athletes who can't cut it elsewhere.
U15's got killed 5-0 in first qualifying game. Try again!

Buddy, before you go to the shrink to deal with your MPSPhobia, take some courses on how to read. The following is from the Mass Youth Soccer site for this year's GU15 Round Robin. Note, the 'refuge' filled MPS Renegades. Nobody says that they are better than the Stars/Scorps at this age, etc. But I'm amazed that you don't go bashing clubs that don't make it to the RR. By the way, the MPS Regegades U13s and U14s made it to the RR too. Not bad for refuge.

You need to get a life. Actually, maybe I do since I feel the need to help you and reply to your nonsense.

Ok...when you mention success is MPS! when your failure is surfaced you bring renegades, crusaders, refugees, Nuts, etc. But BTW is that the best that all MPS teams can do that qualified for state cup? WOW!How many advanced to semis?
Hey just a great IDEA for MPS:
why don't you combine all your MP$$$$**** and form a possible club that can at least compete. Wait...you can't! How do you profit from it? Also what to do with the cuts from better clubs? $orry,I didn't know what I was thinking![/quote:nr646dk2]

So are you saying that if they dont win it all the experience has no value?
