Does anyone know if this exclusivity clause existed and if so has it expired?

The super y league website says the league is open to all qualified clubs who apply. Why is there only 1 club from MA?

There are actually 2 clubs in Mass. We forget about WMP.
There are not exclusive rights for the youth teams but there are rights for the adult teams which play a part.
As to why there are not more clubs in Super Y from mass......Take a look at who is on the all the committes of Super Y and you can figure it out.
I am invloved in a club who tried to enter Super Y and what a fight it was. We played an exhibition season for one year but after that we wanted to put our Adult team in the WPSL and the powers that be did not like that and with the Powers that be in MPS fighting us the whole way....why bother....the league was not that good anyways.
Example: We put a u13 and u14 team combined into the u16 age group and the games were ugly.
I will be in Lancaster next weekend and have some stories on why so many Mass clubs have a bitter view of MPS and why no other Mass clubs are in Super Y.

Everyone has a 'bitter' view of a competing club to an extent. Competition takes revenue away.
Why/How did Blackwatch (comprised of Maple clubs) join? Super Y would love more teams to join because it generates more revenue.

MPS does not participate in Maple because they claim relegation hampers player development. MPS blocks MA clubs from particpating in Super Y league, which definitely hurts player development, and drives up fees and travel costs for parents.

Blackwatch is on paper in Rode Island. That the difference. With having a child playing in both, maple is better but Super Y is getting better every year. Blacwatch RI is an oppurtunity to continue playing at almost as high level of maple when the short maple season is over. This is why Blackwatch RI works for so many. If we had to pick one, like MPS does than it would be Maple...............
