Sounds like Pia rewards consistency over creativity or brilliance . Obviously a great strategy for Sweden

Clearly she learned a great deal about our strengths and weaknesses. But they also managed to squeak another one out against Brazil. Even if they lose in the finals they've accomplished a great deal in a relatively short amount of time

What she did was the same as Dean Smith's 4 corners offense which was outlawed in basketball because it is uncompetitive. Hopefully Fifa will do the same since sports tends to be a copy cat business. Could you imagine soccer in a couple of years if that happens. It will be unwatchable.

Kind of like the female Olympic racer who flung herself across the finish line to get the gold. It's legal but no one likes it.

No, terrible analogy. Not at all alike.

Who doesn't like a runner going ALL out to win. It's completely different than a soccer team going ALL out not to win

Sweden did go out to win. And it was successful. Twice.

If Fifa doesn't want PK's, or 9 players defending they should change the rules.

Congrats to Sweden. I wish USA had shot and defended PK's better and advanced.

We need to send some USWNT selectors to Sweden to show Pia how it's done. Then we might have a chance.

Sweden went out looking for a tie and PKs. That's much different than going for the win

Agree with your other comments though

Some thoughts from a teammate -

“They played their cards right,” she said. “They did the exact same thing with Brazil. They’re in the final, so you can’t really doubt their strategy now.”

When asked about her teammate Solo’s post-match criticism of Sweden, Morgan said she herself always tries to be positive when speaking with reporters or posting on social media.

“I saw her comments but I feel like those are opinions I don’t share,” Morgan said.

Hypocritical decision by Sunil Gulati - a man who chooses to run an organization rife with cronyism and nepotism- which he ignores.

It's all about public relations and "setting an example " so that players don't talk out of line.
The men's side of the organization is run like an old boys club. It's fine as long as that rot stays internal and hidden from most of the public.
