This is a blog and what has happened here is a useful example of a well known kid and the path he is choosing. That provides useful discussion for others to critique for their own use. That is what TS is about. I understand criticizing the train wreck comment. That was not my post.

Didn't say it was me but I can see others thinking that way. There's some pretty warped people on this site.

I would prefer my kid to get a degree from Stanford or NU and then pursue professional soccer if that is an option that is available. At least then there is something to fall back on when all is said and done. If the kid wants to pursue professional soccer now then that is his and his families decision. IMO not the best decision. I would have insisted that my kid stayed at Stanford even if he was not playing soccer.

And he could have gotten that NU degree for free if things hadn't imploded. Hope it works out for him in the end. Not that path I'd want my kid taking either but, he's not my kid.
