How was your point completely ignored? The poster said that doesn't happen at top 75-100 D3s. Surely a JHU alum isn't sending his kids to regional state schools or to Becker, Rivier, Johnson State, Green Mountain, or Fisher Cosmetology.

From the time you apply to walking on campus, one of the first things you learn is how to spell JHU correctly. And you don't know how to write alma mater either. Please, tell us what you've seen. How about you identifying some 4 year starters at top 50 D3s who never played club just to get the discussion going?

I feel it is stupid to pay tens of thousands of dollars for a kid to play soccer and get nothing out of it except the experience of paying soccer. With my own son...he played some club, which was fairly cheap...then he made the Revs, which was free...then he went to a D1 college, which is pretty cheap as well...due to the scholarship he earned, by playing well at the DAP club...that was free.

You miss the point. The point is to get into as good of a school as you can. If soccer helps out then that is great and for many, worth 3-5K per year.

There are at least 4 kids on the CC roster with no club experience. That makes me not 100% wrong on them. You should have joined me at Hopkins, they teach math there.

It's funny that you should mention CC. I know a kid who played on a Top 3 club in MA and was a starter on a state finalist HS team in MA and didn't make the team at CC.
