More white trash behaving badly. There might not have been enough to charge Solo but getting into a brawl with your nephew is just low form. Sounds like she gave the police officers a difficult time as well. Certainly not a person to look up to. No matter what you do on the field, what you do off it matters far more (at least in my book it does)

For all the defenders, simple question, do you really believe Hope Solo is and always has been the victim of other people and circumstances...and just hasn't been capable of preventing those things from following her around (like all the other women in her shoes on the national team, some of whom have enjoyed as much or more fame)? Do you really believe this will be it, corner turned, no more drama, nonsense or criminality in her future?

Why does the media crucify and destroy Mayweather's reputation and image for beating women but doesn't hold the same standards for Hope Solo? I find this a little disingenuous, don't you?

Shouldn't domestic violence committed by ANY gender be heavily criticized by the media? When Mayweather was competing in May, I've read and heard countless female news reporters telling people to boycott the fight because of Mayweather's domestic violence history but now a women, Hope Solo, does the same thing they do nothing but keep silent.

You're out of your tiny mind. There are conflicting reports of Solo and a 18 year old, 6'4", 280 lb. man having a fight. And that = one of the best boxers of all time beating up women?

And fwiw, I didn't hear any reports about Mayweather's abuse prior to his fight.

Wouldn't argue your opinion of him but the video voting is still holding up: 119+ 6- just now. And the guy DOES work for ESPN - which is Disney, and suggests he's not without followers. Notwithstanding the WWC is on Fox, ESPN is deep in bed with USSoccer. As John Oliver correctly observed RE: FIFA, this will get resolved when the sponsors weigh in...
