Not lately, otherwise they would be winning national championships as well, no?

Yes. That U15 team is great. Great team. I have seen them play and was rightfully impressed. Thankfully you have that team because that is the only team you have to support any argument and you are not afraid to use it. You should send BB and SSS a big thank you note because the rest of NEFC has nothing to show since all that counts is National Championships.

Well, here's the rub, they do have that great team and in all of the years that the Stars were considered the top of the club pyramid in Mass they were never able to accomplish anything like that. In fact the Stars results have been on a very consistent decline now for the past 5 years so perhaps BB could recruit a few studs for them before they fire his butt like every other club in Mass has.

Yes, a great team. Unfortunately, they're not better than the Stars group at that age group.

When that team wins something comparable, anything, in the ECNL world, then they can make the same claims, until such time it is nothing more than cuddashuddawudda.

Just wondering when the SSS players are going to start joining NEFC? Pretty clear to all that they are on a dead end. At what point does that reality turn to action?

See the Stars just started another thread to focus attention on their early commitments. Congratulations to all of their players who found a college home for their soccer ambitions.

If anyone is interested in learning about NEFC's approach to college recruiting, here is a link to their "College Center" http://www.nefc.us/college. In it you will read about the club's philosophy behind it's recruiting efforts, find resource information about how to approach getting recruited, as well as find a few success stories.

You might think that, but you can bet your bottom dollar that the losing side -- whichever one it is that ends up losing -- will roll out the usual caveats about how it was just a warm-up opportunity, a meaningless preseason game, kids were banged up or downright injured coming off the just completed HS season, and on and on. Oh and by the way, the reffing was horrible too. Everyone starting to get the idea now?

Well considering that you have had your teams working all fall getting ready and we have some of our best players injured or down in Fl for the inter regionals (which JD knew when he requested the schedule) and it clearly is SO important for the Stars to win so they look good in everyone's eyes we'll do you a favor and concede the match now so you can get on with your massive PR campaign. One thing to chomp while you are blasting away about excuses or Stars dominance though is, except for the newbies, parents are not naïve and know that what ever actually happens next weekend really isn't all that indicative of the big picture. Regardless of who wins, one pre season weekend doesn't say anything about the quality of a club. Only a moron can't see that the measure is the success earned through out the course of a year through league and championship games so while you apparently will "know" something next week, the really smart people will wait until the end of the year to pass judgment.

Which is all true, so why make a huge deal out of it? The only reason to make a big deal out of next weekend is if this it going to be the highlight of the year. That would be pretty sad don't you think? If you have confidence that good things lie ahead why make a big deal about what inevitably will be a crap show?

Didn't NEFC just host a huge showcase for all of the region's prep school coaches to come recruit their younger players? Forward thinking?

LMAO. Wonder if we will now start seeing commitment lists for Prep Schools listing 5th graders on it.

These two posts speak volumes about the differences between the two clubs. The Stars are going to bring a pistol to a knife fight so they can talk about how dominating a club they are while NEFC is going to stress the longer view and focus on the needs of the individual player. Every parent ultimately will make their own choices based upon what they perceive is best for their child so it is very helpful to understand the differences between the options.

I guess reading all this between Stars and NEFC I am glad I am in one of the other 6 anonymous teams. Who wants to listen to this after these 2 play ? OMG
