OP here. This is a forum and all that has been written here really is appropriate within the context of the subject matter of this thread. Just because you don't happen to like the subject that doesn't mean it isn't a valid topic. You can choose to just ignore this thread if you don't agree with it.

One of the things that makes me laugh here is this thread had gone off in a completely different direction that was talking about clubs in general and recruiting. You are the one that actually brought it back to focus specifically on the Stars. In doing that you made it quite simple for someone to point out the contrast between them and just about every other club in this state. You complaining about discussions taking place on a forum is like arguing that a wheel shouldn't roll. It is ridiculous because that is the purpose each is designed for. Your efforts to prevent discussions and deny well known club philosophies make it appear that the Stars are hiding things that they are actually embarrassed by. You might try simply engaging in the discussion and explaining why those philosophies make sense instead.

Shame on the rest of you for letting the Stars and NEFC monopolize the discussion on TS the way they do. This is precisely why I titled the thread the way that I did. It seems that everything that gets discussed here gets focused by their particular philosophies and no one even bothers to isolate the differences between how those two operate and the rest of the clubs in the state do. You all have allowed those two clubs to define what everyone should see as the norms and in doing so allowed them to elevated themselves into a market leader position.

The purpose of a forum is to discuss things. The subject of this particular thread leaves the door wide open for everyone to discuss the relative merits of all of the clubs and contrast them with each other. If that battle is contained here you won't have to continually read the same old battles being regurgitated in every single other thread that gets started. That turns a negative into a positive and is a productive use TS.

How do you know how Stars deal with the bottom half of their rosters? What wonderful amenities are provided to the bench players at NEFC? And you have become cult all by yourself.

If you want to read about what NEFC does for their players when it comes to recruiting they actually have one of the more complete sections on their website about it. They actually just got recognized for having one of the best club soccer websites in the country for stuff like that.

What would be a conversative estimate of the number of threads you ahve either started or revived bashing Stars in the past 4 months, the past year, the past 4 years?

Calling attention to questionable situations is hardly being derogatory. Has there been anything inaccurate written about those questionable situations? If so you would think their people would spend their time clarifying those inaccuracies. The thing that is striking is no one from the Stars seems to be arguing the facts, they just don't like that they are being shown to be what they are and for some reason the rest are supposed to feel sorry for them. Doesn't compute.

Hey Perspective, let's talk politics. How'd them Dems do yesterday? Not so good, eh? What's your Messiah gonna do now that he won't have Reid blocking for him. Even the mainstream media is turning on him. Did you hear the questions CBS' s Major Garrett put to him during his press conference? Oooo weee! If I were Garrett I'd start worrying about an IRS audit, a call from the Justice Department and I'd be checking my PC for classified documents.

This guy just doesn't get the harm HE does. What specifically does he feel has been made up in this particular thread? There is nothing that has been posted here about them that is anywhere near controversial. If he just stayed on topic half the time and stressed his club's merits they would have a much different public image than what they have. He is the one that keeps going back and talking about threads that are years old at this point. Does he really want to go back a couple of years to repost Suzie's comments yet again and deny that stuff happens? Does he really want to deny the more recent situation that the Stars are promoting an anti-high school agenda and argue that cutting a kid after they follow that agenda isn't wrong? As far as the other clubs are concerned he can go ahead and rehash all of those things as much as he likes, because those "fictions" as he likes to call them actually are quite true and his continual harping on them actually helps the rest of the clubs educate potential customers why they don't want to join that one specific club. None of that changes the fact though that he is the one who keeps making the Stars look so bad because he keeps bringing all of the conversations back to them and reintroducing long dead discussions that actually showed them in a negative light. He's a cancer to the Stars cause.

You just keep reinforcing what a whack job you are, and I will contend that you are doing Stars a major DISSERVICE with your vitriol and warped sense of who's who.
