I don't know what the OPs original intent was. He's done similar with all graduating classes for the last few years and I've found it very useful, as has my now-committed player. It is very eye opening to starry eyed players and their parents. Getting onto a college roster isn't even half the battle. Many players aren't even playing half way through; few have meaningful four year careers. It's important that people go into knowing this not only to manage their own expectations, but also when evaluating programs (avoid programs with high turnover). Coaches make great salespeople. Buyer beware.
All these stats are probably close, but don't discount the huge fact that many of these D1 players are getting into very good schools that they would have not have been academically eligible for, had it not been for soccer. Some may forfeit a scholarship (if they had one) once they leave the team for whatever reason, but they are still in the school. So if they don't make the roster after a Freshman or Sophomore year, it is still is a home run. I would guess at least 70% fall into this category

Looks like over 70 boys (from different schools and clubs) playing a good amount of soccer as Freshman. Congrats to all!

Gordon at Northwestern played 29 minutes over 5 games, so that should be adjusted.

OP here. I gather the recent poster is referencing some of my lists. Here is the Wesleyan stats sheet with a few more games:

How about getting the facts straight since you obviously see this as your duty to report on?

OP here. The correct stats for D1 are on posts 505/6/7 of this thread. The stats for D3 are 493/499/500. The new poster added some D2 posts and other useful info. To the extent the info is accurate, thank you for that.

Hey OP. I didn't realize you were the master of the Internet and no one else could do a search....and that you had all the correct answers. Without even looking too hard, I see that you left a kid from Wheaton off your list who started more games than the kid you listed. You also left off the NESCAC and NEWMAC kids who won Rookie of the Year for their leagues. Maybe this new list is actually an improvement on your list. it's OK, you had a good run....
