yup run and hide....two years ago in the U13B group a coach did the same thing (loaded his team with his club players). People didn't gripe on TS - they went to the District coordinator and brought it up. The coordinator took care of it and the team was barred. Did any of you do that or did you just cry on TS.

People are tired of MYSA. Their inability to function at virtually every level has become an accepted fact. They are there to run Lancaster and collect user fees. End of story.

Shouldn't MYSA be policing its own tournaments?

Problem is that the PARENTS and coaches lie and say they are with different clubs. DSP Admins find out and then fire the coach for the next year but they can not sanction the entire team or those not involved suffer as well. Double edged.....sad affair when people lie and cheat on something so trivial as summer soccer

only 5 from Explosion. There is one Attleboro kid that plays but he is not from last year's team. Might be on next year's team but they go only by previous season I think

I saw this...kid running around with his shirt pulled up and coach is clapping and hollering for him to continue. Poor sportsmanship and then got all irate when called out for it. We played after him and the parents were just as bad. Orange parent said somethingwhile packing up about poor sportsmanship and some guy gets in their face. Apple does not fall far from the tree.

They enjoyed beating up town players. They can't beat any of the best teams in the state. They are in the b bracket of Stars Cup because they can't hang with the big boys. It's too bad would have enjoyed watching them lose.

Re: The U13B Vikings coach … He has demonstrated a complete lack of class for two-straight years now at Districts. He cheats by bringing his club team to a tournament designed to bring kids from many different towns/clubs together and then appallingly encourages his players to demonstrate a lack of respect for the other teams and poor sportsmanship. If he is looking for a summertime "challenge" for his team, there are options out there that do not require he enter his club team under false pretenses. MA Youth needs to police this nonsense better. Unfortunately, his attitude and philosophy are reflected in the 13 year old boys he is coaching and the blame lies squarely on the parents that continue to support him with their money and their trust.

To those of you ridiculing the coaches and players (children) in the tournament all I can say is ... wow … You are part of the small but absurdly vocal breed of loathsome imbeciles that mock others (children even) and proclaim your so-called expertise from behind the protective veil of anonymity provided by forums like this. Please … from the bottom of my heart … renew your prescriptions … It is not too late to rejoin humanity … otherwise, I am certain there is a very warm place waiting for you at the end of your miserable and lonely existence

If you are the parent of an elite child soccer prodigy and for some reasoned came to believe that the DSP was the place to “challenge” said prodigy with the highest possible levels of competition, then chose to "air out" your displeasure and disappointment about the "quality of the competition" here, then I must regrettably inform you that you are at best uninformed and out of the loop, but just as likely, you are delusional about your aforementioned prodigy. Those highest levels of competition tend to come looking for you (not the other way around). Please renew your prescriptions … It is not too late to rejoin humanity

From the MA Youth Web Site …

“The District Select Program ("DSP") is run by Massachusetts Youth Soccer each summer. DSP provides players the opportunity to continue their development during the summer in a fun and competitive soccer environment. “

"FUN and COMPETITIVE" ... way to ruin it Jackanapes!!!

True, but shame on the coach once. Shame on Mass Youth for letting him get away with it again. The guy is a jerk but they let him come back and pull his old shenanigans. They can't say they did not know. They should have gone over his roster with a fine tooth comb.

Is this the team that will be U13 this fall, or U14...?

Pretty easy to check rosters. Pretty easy to ban a coach from participating if he has a proven track record as an asshat. Pretty easy for a referee to card a player for being an ahole and the coach for encouraging it.

It seems to me that there are many ways to have handled this in a way that would have put it to rest. MYSA strikes again.

Dont judge a program by one or two coaches/teams. Most are great coaches, legit teams and decent quality players.

Anyone's kid play BU12 district 6? How is the team/play? Where do they practice?

Thinking about it for next year. I get that it would be a whole new group of kids. Just curious if there is a lot of involvement/interest in district 6.

District 6 practice at Lancaster. They have more players/teams involved than any other district. Make of that what you will.
