Thoughts on District Select???

Districts are Horrible

District program is a total waste of time.. low level club / town players. It's supposed to be about letting the players develop and have fun, but with out coaching input, it might as well be a pick-up game down the park. Most of the games I observed were nothing more than "kick-ball",, no possession, no team work. Hard to comprehend how Mass Soccer can have such a great ODP program and then have such a weak and useless District Program.
I guess if you take it for what it is Summer Soccer for cheap money its OK,,(you get what you pay for), but as for development, you might as well enroll your player in a Soccer Camp or Clinic where they will have fun and still learn something. Utter Disappointment, for my Player.

I look at DSP as a fun summer league with no pressure- like pick up soccer. Only development that occurs is through touching the ball. It should not be about intense competition- that's for club soccer. I say let as many that want to play join in. No tryouts-just sign up for your district and create as many teams as possible.

Maybe for your player. We played on a quality team, played well & had a coach that taught them tactics. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience but the program isn't useless. I suppose your kid will soon be picked up for the national team. Let us know how that works out when you get there!

People running Disitrct Select have their head in the sand. Priorities all messed up. To concerned about things that don't matter... and truly important things that do matter they handle in probably the worst way imaginable.

Lancaster fields are in horrible condition. They need some TLC from a outside professional.

He is an ******* indeed but managed to attract and keep 2-3 very good players and the entire team is not bad generally. They will be one of dominating teams in Maple U13 Blue this spring.

Explosion does not have "2-3 very good players". No one stands out, not one! All very average to below average players. Not a good team at all.

Yet another example of a person disappointed by reality not being what they perceive it to be or wanting it to be, rather than what it is.

It's a summer program that is "select" (as in "NOT ELITE") FOR PLAYERS (not adults). If a kid loves to play, they love the program. Are there exceptions? Sure, but they're just that.

My son played against U12 3N today. They are clearly from one club. It was a good game anyways. My son isn't playing for hardware.

There are only 6 players from Explosion. Unfortunately when playing 8v8 that is most of your team.

So let me get this straight! The U13 b Viking houligans led by their Napoleon coach have been given a free pass by MYSA to cheat two years in a row. MYSA should get their act together and ban these punks from the final at the very least.

Vikings coach is ahole. Encouraged one of his players to run around the field with his shirt up after scoring. He was called out about and got in a shouting match with the opposing coach. Parents were just as bad....father of player got in fight after game. Bunch of classless players, parents and coaches from D5.
