Don't you understand? Valeo and NU took all their best players from u12 and u11 teams, at least 4 teams. Not a single NU or Valeo team made a playoff, except u12 11x11 Valeo. But they lost to Blazers because some players were tired from playing 7-8 games. All of this and for what?

No one from Aztec lost any sleep over the final score nor were they concerned about the GPS roster. All the teams played as hard as their little bodies allowed all weekend but GPS was just too strong in the end.

As far as the post game issue. It all centered around one of the GPS players who actually open hand slapped an Aztec player across the face behind the play during the game and then when the boys were shaking hands after the game was being immature and generally disrespectful to some of the Aztec players with his comments. Not sure how that was conveyed between coaches but apparently it could've been handled better by all parties.

Valeo United did not play or see GPS. Valeo B team lost 4-1. No one was impressed with the GPS group (right, not really a team.). I however am impressed with the number of versions explaining the rise from mediocre to VW REGIONAL champs.
1) some were playing other sports; 2) some were from NC, GA, NH but the tournament director knew each one and apparently did not realize some were playing lacrosse Saturday; 3) they had the same 14 players all weekend; 4) theyve never met until Saturday but Knights players scored most goals; 4) #11 terrorized someone. Was he local or the kid from NC?; 5)No GPS team that has played together for years is that good in NEP yet a bunch of strangers who have never played together met on Sat suddenly develop into superstars by Monday. 6) does GPS have a presence in NC? Isn't any presence in the south relatively new? GPS developed these superstars and had them play in a MA tournament? 7) everyone else is a sore loser.

All this work to go to a VW tournament in Portland? Why doesn't Dreamteam man just hook all the MPS players up? Or better yet try to do a tournament in Hawaii.

Who would send their 12 year old to play alone on a team he's never met 1000 miles away? I thought about how I would feel about that. Who would pay for my travel? Do I have to foot the hotel bill? Flights? Meals? If my kid is that good, why should he play for a team that can't do it alone? Should my kid win a trip for a bunch of kids he never met before?

No one slapped anyone at any point. Sure there was trash talking and jawing back and forth among the players and that is part of the game.Believe me, it gets much worse when they get older and then overheard what that idiot coach told the GPS player at the ceremonial hand shake. Disgraceful, the kid was a little shell shocked as you would expect. I haven't read all 21 pages of comments on this thread, but I will say this. We played GPS at the VW tournament 2 years ago, and made it to the final. GPS ABSOLUTELY brought kids in from their teams which had been eliminated, to play in the final. No doubt. We were shocked and upset at the time, but have now figured out this is how they operate. Nobody is stopping them

No one blames GPS. I read about 10 pages back soneone said they would have loved to have played this GPS team. And congratulations. I agree. 8 games? EW is an idiot. Pick one team and don't make players choose which game. By the way Valeo B team also had 6 games to play. Valeo United would have lost regardless because the Valeo U12 kids were planning on playing in their finals. They could barely kick a ball as evidenced by their performance come Monday. This is on EW's poor management. No one blames GPS.
