GPS also scored most of their goals over the Aztec GK who was brave and kept trying, but was not at fault for any of the goals conceded.
GPS does nothing to help themselves by "intentionally?" fielding over age players in this tournament. Who does that? When you bend the rules in one instance, it is easy to jump to the conclusion that they would bend the rules in another instance.

How is it "legal" to enter a team with 2001s in a tournament for 2002 & younger?
How is it ok to hide this tournament and "stock" it so they are guaranteed to win? No one is doubting that Md , VA, NY teams would be competitive but for MA sake, soccer here will not improve if we don't get the right competition here. - "hiding" this tourni is a sham. Stacking it is as well. GPS ought to be reprimanded

EVIDENCE for OVER AGE GPS NH players in GPS tourni

they were second in bracket#1 but were disqualified from semis (come to find out late Sunday) for having rostered 2001s!!!

- different team composition from two days to final (GPS MA)
It's certainly unsportsmanlike in entirety -
While it's true that stacking the team with the best 2002's is the winning strategy, a combination of these behaviors makes GPS questionable in abiding by rules they set for others. Intentionally dishonest instead of competitive and something to be looked up to.
Normal M?GPS parents are threatened and anxious about their tactics and dishonesty. Never mind Aztec, which should rightly contest their win.
2. national and perhaps international acclaim? really? :) They are 11. Any 11 phenoms are already identified. I don't think we have any phenoms in NE. We do have a lot of talented D1/MLS players.
3. I see nothing wrong with entering in a team to fill a bracket as long as it does advance.
4. What do you mean by stacking a team with 2002's? It was a 2002's tournie. That's not stacking nor is it a "winning strategy". It is the upper age limit.
GPS has sent us emails about tryouts. I don't know if it is in those emails or the web site but it was clear to me that they put together all-star teams and this might impact my child's playing time -- if they were to join MPS.
So for me, when I played sports or when my children play sports, after we lose -- we NEVER, EVER, EVER bitch. Not about the weather, not about the their team, not about our team, not about the coaching, the parents, the alignment of the stars. If the other team did something unethical, that is their issue not mine. At the end of the day, my karma is intact.
If Aztec is the one that got "screwed", why are you so upset?

PS. thank you for the complement.

Tired? Are you kidding me? 10 -12 year old can not play 5 games of soccer over 3 days. 5 hours of running over 3 days that is not even 1.5 hours a day!
What are they doing for training FIFA 14 on-line?
W-T-F. The excuses are flying.

Turn VW JR Masters to VALEO UNITED
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostBy replacing a few tired, mediocre players (i.e. crossing off players and putting on new ones)... Yes that is wrong and supposedly against the rules or all the clubs would have done it.
If for no other reason than future years, GPS ought to be reported to the VW officials to turn the tournament over to another club.
Valeo United should run the tournament next year. Their field was completely empty that weekend! They'll enter all 2001s on one team and 2002 on another now they know the winning strategy.
