The fact is if a kid has NT potential they WOULD be invited and wouldn't have to rely on politics to worm a slot into one of the first round camps. JD is just pimping his reputation to keep his club afloat. At this point he has only one team (these 14's) that are anywhere close to being a top level team but they are heading in the same direction all of the other teams from all of the other clubs are - towards mediocrity. He knows that he needs to infuse more talent into this team which is why he is recruiting this age group so hard.
If all his NT kids are one-and-done, it would be obvious to the USNT people that he cannot develop players and that his recommendations should carry no weight. That doesn't seem to be the case, much to the frustration of BTDT and his cult.

Perhaps none of the current Stars players will play in a World Cup or make a full NT. Those spots are for the rare few with the talent and skill and work rate to get there and stay there over many years. But getting kids a chance to test themselves at those camps and get some extra exposure is a good thing. Stars can and will be criticized for lots of flaws, but the # of kids getting camp exposure shouldn't be one of them.

It's good business. Elite players don't wait for tryouts to decide whether they're going to make a move or not, so NEFC creates its new training system to keep these kids in place. Stars publicizes the number of NT invitees to make sure that the NEFC players know that they have some juice.

The idea of it being "brazen" makes no sense. If the players and their families are happy with the coaching and competition, happy with their rate of development and the exposure they're getting - they'll stay. If not, they'll go where they think they'll do better.

If other clubs wanted to recruit Stars players, they can do it too. In most cases, they either know that they don't have enough to offer or they simply don't want them.

If that's the case, then that is one extremely talented Stars team at U14. I thought the party line was that they're over-rated, slipping, and destined for mediocrity.

Makes sense! IDP comes out because these 2 players want to leave. NEFC is reactive instead of proactive!! Stars better be careful, you would be bringing in two of the craziest parents in the soccer world. May acutally break the team apart eventually!! I guess that's how desperate JD is to wanting a national powerhouse. All the older teams are not a national powerhouse and he is getting concerned because other clubs are catching up. Needs another team to put on the club website with all the national accomplishments.

Pretty sick people who only care about themselves and ego instead of developing current team.

Flat out wrong. It was a U14 NT camp, and it was last fall. Not ODP.

Heard the same rumor last year and look how that turned out.

I think this thread confirms that the "crazy" torch has just been passed from the u-16 parents to the u-14 parents. You should feel so proud.......

So- a team that consistently beats JD's team should have some NT camp invites also, correct? Does anyone know how many NT invitees are on the u14 PDA or world class team?

PDA has only beaten JD's team once in all the times they've played. WCFC is a different story; they are legitimately better.

                        Really???

MM and KH are both really talented players no matter who they play for. KH will not be playing she has an injury. It is a shame that parents here think they can assess a player better than people who are doing it day in and day out. Stars, NEFC, PDA etc all ahve talented players.

People these are U15 players and kids at that. Take a step back and congratulate them for what they have accomplished not what others have done to get them there. I dont think that NT would say hey he said they were good lets just add them. There is a process in place and a mediocre kid is not going to make it.

with that said I say congrats to all because my child is not good enough to play at this level. Parents are insane on this site and if you just took a step back and asked yourself if this is worth it putting down kids this age then you must have serious issues when you were growing up. I just tip my cap and say good luck and stay healthy. Congratulations on your accomplishment and I hope you make it.

By your reasoning then, teams that have proven themselves superior to JD's must have girls that are worth a chance at NT status also? Yet, they are not getting that chance. Why????

Do you know for a fact that none of the WCFC kids are going to the next NT camp? If not, you are going to have to STFU until the list is released. I know that this messes up your agenda with tryouts right around the corner, but too bad.

If these parents do come over to Stars it will not be pretty. Parents, coaches and players have left NEFC because of these 2 and now Stars is going to take them in? Not a good idea
