This is the reason it (the whole soccer thing) will never work.
You have excuses for ANYTHING.

To second that last thought. I'm sitting at a id clinic for a top 20 women's program. All of the players can actually play here today. You can understand why they are all here. Quite impressive assemblage of talent. There is however a pretty big difference between the kids that are standing out compared to the pack. The differential is speed and intensity. Private coaches are not going to teach that.

Speed of play is consistently covered during private coaching?? If you're referring to physical speed then a strength and conditioning coach would be the expert there.

Speed without technique is effectively useless; a 1 on 1 coach will help improve technique to compliment your speed. Genetics is very much the main factor when it comes to speed, a player can become 10% faster/more explosive through running mechanics/conditioning but some have it and some don't.
Practicing at home/with friends should be seen as an extension to private training not as a replacement. Yes, professional private trainers don't come cheap but they provide a great deal and the training they provide can't be replicated in a team practice or at home, it's not even up for debate.
