Yes they are, but typically (last 4 years) each year about 100 Mass Boys end up playing D2 and D3 as freshman thus one would expect many different Clubs to be represented.

Why would anyone waste their time going to Assumption to play soccer. Good school but the soccer is terrible haven't had winning season in years and school does not put much into it either. Better D2 and D3 choices both academically and soccer wise.

If you are playing Assumption soccer you are there for the academics. And no the academics aren't great but it works for some kids. I know several kids on the team and they are nice kids. I hope they have fun.

I never question where a kid decides to go to school - it's their choice and no one's business but their own.

Not questioning whether they are nice kids I am sure they are and agree academically good school and good financial aid but and I say but twice, it is not a power in the NE10 and has had a losing record the last few years which can be detrimental to players as it wears on you. If playing soccer and winning is important then AC is not the place.

Agreed, it should be noted that some of the players from MA there are from top club teams that won state championships and played in regionals. Very good players. I could imagine at least one being frustrated with the below average performance. Certainly something to consider. As I look through the NE-10, SNHU and Franklin Pierce are better at soccer, but I wouldn't be thrilled with the academics and a few other things. UML was doing pretty well but now they slipped into D1 and are being smacked around a lot. Merrimack's not too bad, but I hear they are considering the D1 gig. So if NE-10 is my gig, not sure where I would advise someone to land right now.

KR I hear us a great student. Could probably have his pick of schools based on academics. He probably wants to play and with his GPA and test scores is paying very little. Something to be said about no debt

Sometime the financial package (academic merit and athletic aid and maybe some financial aid) for a true "student athlete" can be so overwhelming that you realistically cannot say no...and that happens in the NE-10. Assumption is a fine school (not so called academic elite, but still a very good school) and if a student athlete can get out of there for very little cost and no student debt....sounds like a great situation if that is the case. Congratulations to anyone who has such options. A great student typically will do well no matter where they attend and will do well coming out of Assumption. Congrats and good luck.

There seems to be a KR promotion going on. Mom and Dad, please stop. I am sure KR would not approve

Maybe if people would not publicly bash a players choice of school mom and dad would not feel the need to defend him.

Assumption has a large endowment and tends to give a very good financial aid package based on merit and grant more than athletics skill. Granted they do not tend to put much money into the soccer program and not as succesful as other in the NE10 but for any student and their parents if they are getting a good aid package and playing sports or not that is an important factor in deciding where to go. In addition add in now that Assumption is freezing their tuition for incoming freshman, current freshman and Sophomores for their years of attendance. Not a bad deal.

This is a list of the best HS Soccer players from MA this year. Looks like it excludes ISL. But it's March and I can't find a college destination for any of those players. it's a remender that many of the players on the current commitment list are not playing HS soccer any more. Either DAP or ISL. If anyone knows where these kids are going, let me know. I have to believe some are slotted.
